Looks like Donny may have egg on his face over his claims to have obliterated Iran's nuclear development ... he's attempting to dismiss as 'false' some intelligence reports that suggest the facilities weren't completely destroyed but instead only 'set-back' a few months ...

    Oops ... what now?

Tbh the Iranians probably just stuck that 400kg of uranium in the back of a truck and drove it somewhere else.

This was said from the very off that the US hadn't caused the damage it claimed.

I wasn't sure whether to believe that or not at first due to the lack of evidence or official announcements.

But the media have certainly pushed this one and suggestions seem that Iran had prepared for the attack

I'm not quite sure how but I also heard that the US and Israeli's have to be careful how they blow up some of these targets, to protect any potential nuclear fall out affecting the whole of the Middle East.

Rumours certainly seem strong it's a bit of a failure, down to the Americans to prove differently I suppose as Iran will be more likely now to develop them.

Not quite the outcome I would have liked, but Iran knows they will have to be good boys for a few months now, to prevent a second wave of attacks, all a bit too messy, but hasn't it always been.

I only saw your comment after I replied to Fosse lol this is probably nearer the truth that some bits were kept separate from others in prep for any attack.

It seems almost obvious that they would move any enriched uranium to a safe space ahead of attacks that they were pretty certain would come.

Especially given that it was only 400kg, that’s like the size of a golf buggy and could be moved pretty easily you’d think.

If the US has destroyed or severely damaged the centrifuges that enrich the uranium, then that will set Iran back, but it’s only a matter of rebuilding some mechanical stuff to get them up and running again.

Either way, let Donny have his victory because that keeps him with his foot on the neck of both Israel and Iran and stops them both from ramping this up into a full blown war.

    * disclaimer. I don’t actually have any idea how much a golf buggy weighs, that was just a guess lol

Just catching up on the news, apparently Trump reckons he's put them back decades, the more he shouts this the less likely I am to believe it, but the otherside of the coin is we don't want another Iraq and an excuse to go again, so it's better to accept his version of events for now. So Iran you'd think would be happy to go along with Trumps version, otherwsise they will be just enticing more strikes on themselves..

Yeah he wants the win, and he’s framed the intelligence leak as coming from a ‘sore little loser’ or similar. Trump is deeply suspicious of the CIA and is often at odds with the US intelligence agencies

Either way, it will need proper assessment from the nuclear inspectors to tell how degraded Iran’s nuclear capabilities are. But for now I’m happy to let him have his win as it de-escalates the immediate situation.

My personal opinion on this is that the US intel before these strikes was probably right, that although Iran were enriching to 60% they weren’t producing a bomb, but they were enriching to show the west that they could have the capability and were also using it for leverage in the nuclear deal I.e We degrade and step down in return for a lift on sanctions etc.

I’ve mentioned it before, but all of this talk of nuclear capabilities and having oversight over who has weapons etc needs to extend to Isreal and not just Iran. Both countries represent a real risk, not only to each other, but to the whole region.

Iran, for all of the issues they cause, are signed up to the non proliferation treaty, which is why they have nuclear inspectors going in. Israel on the other hand are not, do not declare their nuclear weapons and are rumoured to have 200 nuclear warheads. If they were made to sign up, they would have to disarm.

imo, when you have two counties at each others throats like this and threatening to wipe each other out. Then take away both of their nuclear weapons capabilities, especially when it could have such dire consequences for everybody else

Trump is such a massive baby, I’m almost beginning to warm to him. His outburst yesterday might have been the first honest words spoken about the Middle East, by any world leader since WWII.

    Google says 408-544kg. It’s important.

A large male Galapagos tortoise, a mature female moose, or Peter Saxton on Christmas evening can weigh approximately 400 kg.

Harsh but it’s what AI says.

    Can’t argue with AI mate

I mean you can, but it will find an algorithm to prove you wrong eventually.

Anyway, claiming that Golf buggy as a win lol.

On my flight to the Algarve we got moved to a bigger plane at the last minute as the original one was unsafe to take off due to the number of golf bags on board. Anyway Sky breaking news is saying Trump has ended the war. In his own words.

Just goes to show that it’s not just a golf buggy sized lump of uranium that can cause danger.

Pleased for Trump, expecting to see him, Netanyahu and The Ayatollah teeing off at Augusta together in the next couple of weeks.
