IMG_7711.jpeg Bristol City have had a £500k bid accepted for Blackpool defender Oliver Casey

The player is keen on a Championship move and is expected to sign a 3-year deal, with contract talks still ongoing

Do we really need another CB?, I’m not sure how accurate this is tbh, as far as I can see it’s only from one source, are they trustworthy?, I’d like to see it from more trusted sources before I’m convinced it’s real.

Not at any avenue i don't.. Being sold off as a play toy to that sort of owner is not for me..
If I'm that desperate to watch Premiership football I can, from the likes of Man C or Liverpool..

As I said above, he might be rich, but so is SL - FFP keeps us from spending, so the only way this guy would have a chance of taking us to the Prem is by changing the management structure.
He won’t be able to splash the cash - even if he wanted to.

I really hope Tinnion's not bringing in this guy from Blackpool to replace Rob Atkinson.
Similarly Randell to replace Knight ?

It's a historical fact that our ventures into the replacement players market is certainly not to be lauded on any level as our dismal signings of last summer prove without a doubt. Our new manager's resume and experience don't fill me with confidence and I just hope he doesn't get too friendly with Tinnion and speaks up on his own thoughts before he gets swamped with players that are nowhere near up to par and will not help him achieve the success of the last campaign. Gerhart's EFL experience is limited just to Barnsley and there wasn't much else on his CV in the coaching department other than working with the youngsters at several European and U.S. teams. I hope, for everybody's sake, that he hasn't been fooled by the usual words coming from the boardroom and if he has been promised the moon then perhaps someone needs to take him aside and tell some home truths about the true lack of commitment from the very top of the Bristol City tree. Of course I want us to succeed but having supported the club for over 60 years I have seen way too many proclamations from management about how we intend to improve our lot in football life and, surprisingly enough we are still where we are, without a sign of anything changing - other than our manager. I would seriously like to see Brian Tinnion leave the club followed swiftly by Jon Boy but we all know daddy would not want to hurt his baby's feeling by hiring someone who knows how to succeed at our game and create some excitement rather than boring tippy-tappy boredom.

Best news to come out of Ashton Gate Stadium best central defender at Ashton Gate Stadium well done Bristol City FC you saw the light.Goals and defending and brings the ball out with ease with his feet.

Got to be Atkinson-Dickie-McNally with Pring and McCrorie as wing backs

    That is some defence.

Just need to sort the striking department out with quality-keep Knight and we’re rocking. IMG_7739.jpeg

Atkinson staying is a good bonus as it seemed certain that he may not come back to BS3 according to some reports I read recently. We need to focus on the positions where we don't have good enough coverage and that would certainly be up front and a better back-up in goal for the future, or present if needed. The forwards currently on our books don't cut it at this level and need to be dumped and that would include Mehmeti who frustrates the hell out of most of us, but he would probably claim that he needs to be playing higher football. My suggestion would be somewhere in Nepal or Tibet might suit his demeanour better. :emoticon-0136-giggl

Really good news, I was concerned we were going to let him go, if I’m honest I don’t understand why we got into a position that we had to let him go on loan to get minutes, in the end it was for the best for all concerned, but managed properly he could have built up time here.

There were times he could have been used, brought on at 60 mins etc, it’s not like we didn’t bring players on at 60 mins. Had we done so I’m convinced we’d not have been short at the back during the playoffs, which obviously we were. We left ourselves short of numbers at the back because we weren’t willing to allow Atkinson to come back to fitness here.

Had Manning still been our manager I believe Atkinson would have stayed at Pompey permanently,

I also got the impression that Manning was prepared to let him stay at Portsmouth and I couldn't understand why he wanted him possibly gone. Good player and perhaps under a new regime he might get even better. Now we have to focus on keeping Knight here as well because between them they were top players last season when they played here.

Enjoyed the interview, glad he is back and signed up, he did terrific for Pompey, interesting to hear he has already spoken to Struber, demonstrates quietly, that he has already been involved with player decisions.

    Welcome home big Rob.

Pompey fans reckon he was instrumental in keeping them up. Bristol City doing the right thing for a change.

Ahhh and i'm glad Manning has gone -the football was awful sideways-backwards-goalkeeper.

Understandable some people disliked his brand of style, to be honest I quite enjoyed his approach, I remember how he coped with his own deep loss, the decision of the Lansdowns & BT to ignore and neglect him during the Winter window and will never forget he transformed us into a top 6 club despite his difficulties, I respect LM and what he achieved, some individuals slate him, some try to water down his successes, personally I wish him well except when we play Norwich.
