There's gobshites on every board. I'm too long in the tooth to let what happens next to affect me too much.
Turn up in the pub pre-match with long-standing mates, talk bollocks and put the world to rights, then a few pints after the match, as long as that continues the 90 minutes (often of dross) in between is a small part of the whole day, rinse and repeat. :emoticon-0138-think

Quite a risk that. Worked appointing a back room guy with Franks, but there is something about this guy Andrews I don't like at all.

He always struck me as too fond of his own opinion when he did the talking head bit. But fair enough, he's having a go at it instead of talking.

    I won't say good luck!

Always wary of how people with media training do well in interviews…

Fair play to Brentford really. At least they arent appointing one of the tried and failed coaches we see doing the rounds. Not sure I could have coped with another dose of Lopetuigi.

Be interesting watch. I am a big fan of clubs appointing from within. Not that is happens much. Stability and continuity is so important. Well, unless you are Chelsea. If Brentford have taken a leaf out of the Liverpool boot room all credit to them.

They haven't though, it's nothing like the same thing, Andrews has only been there ten minutes ...

... Paisley, as an example, was there for twenty years before he became manager.

Faigan was there for donkey's as well.

Andrews sounds very much like Matt Bloomfield to my ears, another English coach who talks a good game.

I don't think either will ever manage another PL team tbh ...

... if Brentford have done this as a cheap option I think it'll cost them.

Not the first time they have appointed from within.

Why would they do it as a cheap option? They could afford a media hyped European coach no problem. Maybe they have done their due dilligence and decided he is the best man for their needs.

It's their MO,it worked with Frank, why change it. However,Brentford are one of the clubs I'm hoping whose bubble will burst a little this next year, giving us more of a fighting chance of a decent season.

Yeah, while I give them credit for being a club that likes to plough their own furrough, I do have them down as a team that will be in teansition next season. Andrews very much unproven. Losing key players. Will they attract effective replacements without Frank? Questions about them for sure.

Yes I'm sure they can afford other options and they think he's the best man for the job.

I'm just not sure how much 'due diligence' they can do when Andrews has no record to base it on. Frank had a decade in management before he took over at Brentford after being there for two years. No one can say what Andrews can do and it's probably wishful thinking that he's a failure ...

... relegation would be excellent tbh.

Oh and Andrews gets on my nerves in a way Frank didn't <laugh>

Good experience with Adi in as his assistant part of the reason Coventry are where they are now, be interesting the style of play they go for, Boro fans seemed bored by Carricks death by a thousand passes approach and Edwards was kind of forced into the long ball Luton play as it was already established

My prediction is that they will just miss out on play offs again

Not very inspiring! Think the Championship next season....the three teams coming down, two strongly resourced teams coming up....Sheff U,Coventry,Bristol City amongst others..... I know we'll have a tough season, but the Championship will be brutal!

Maybe they won't be. But, were many here when Regis turned up?

All about a decent start I think.

I reckon a lot of us were yes. He was more of an unknown than Edwards which helped of course.
