Yeah, he really didn't get much luck, but as always that team is a bit all over the shop at the moment. As I said previously, just really hoping the proposed upgrades work...

Lawrence Stroll walking down the paddock scratching his Balls , then sticks his hand down the front of his trousers for a damned good scratch :emoticon-0127-lipss

James Vowls signs new contract extension . *** I’m well happy ***

    From Autosport .

Williams Formula 1 team principal James Vowles has signed a new long-term deal with the squad.

Vowles joined Williams in 2023 from Mercedes, where he held the role of motorsport strategy director, and had initially spoken about the daunting task he faced in turning the team around. The 45-year-old famously commented that much of the team’s car build was still run off an Excel spreadsheet.

Vowles has since restructured the team’s design operation and secured the signing of race-winner Carlos Sainz to partner Alex Albon in one of the best driver pairings on the grid.

The team currently sits in fifth place in the F1 world constructors’ championship with 55 points – more points than it scored in the previous three seasons combined.

And Vowles has said he continues to drive the team forward in the pursuit of winning its first F1 title since 1997.

Vowles said: “I am delighted to sign a new contract with Atlassian Williams Racing, which has felt like home from the moment I walked through the door. This iconic team has already given me some incredible memories and we are all united in our ambition to build on our legacy and win world championships again.

“Over the past two years, we have focused on fixing the foundations, and now have a platform to go for glory in the years to come.”

Matthew Savage, chairman of Williams Racing and Dorilton Capital, added: “We are thrilled that James has signed a new contract with Atlassian Williams Racing and committed his future to completing the mission that we are on together.

“He has brought experience, energy, and strategic leadership to the task of restoring Williams to the top step of the podium. We aren’t there yet, but you can sense the momentum we are building at Grove and are excited about what lies ahead.”

Since Jordan stopped as Jordan , I have supported Williams .

Loved the Sir Patrick Head / Alan Jones days , amongst many others

    I agree ,

He seems very grounded and doesn’t hide the fact he’s trying to do more than turn the obvious things around , lots of things need to change , sadly I imagine with some job losses .

I see Jack Draper will be seeded 4 at Wimbledon. This means he will avoid Sinner, Alcaraz or Zverez until the semi finals, which he will hopefully reach.
I have watched him play at Queens and I thought he was a bit off his game yesterday with a few unforced errors but more so with his use of the drop shot. It seemed, to me, that the majority of the time he played a drop shot he lost the point.
He’s in the second semi final today, on BBC2 if anyone is interested in watching, with the winner potentially playing Alcaraz.

Azzedine Habz won the race in front of his home crowd by clocking 3:27.49 - a meet record and French national record - while Kenya's Phanuel Kipkosgei Koech set a world junior record in second in the non-Diamond League race.

This was the result of the 1500m in Paris last night. The times are just unbelievable. Also look at the absentees - Ingebrigtsen,Kerr. Cheruyiot, Hocker. 1500m running is just insane at the moment with so many guys running sub 3.30. It is hard to pick an obvioius World Champion as the talent is so deep. Whatever happens at the World Championship, we are going to be treated to some fantastic athletics.

Looks like the match order has been changed as the Draper match has just started and is on BBC1, not 2.
