I would like Mr. Tickle in goal. He would be great at crosses and easy to see as he is bright orange. I think.we have previously signed Mr Clumsy.
I dont want to rule baz out completely just yet. Whilst he is clearly not good enough for us, he is still young for a keeper. Some of the top keepers of today were not doing much better at 23. Raya was at Blackburn for example - not a dissimilar level to Bazunu now. Ideally we would give him a season long loan in the championship to see how he does.
Never seen a goalie in the pro game whose starting position is so poor, whose reactions are slow and who looks positively weak in a lot of situations. It's like having a 20 year old me playing in goal.

Always wary of players from the Belgian league, especially ones who play for the smaller teams because of the way the league works. Onuachu had great goal numbers and he played for one of the top teams which is far harder due to the competition and, well we know how that turned out.
The Belgian league is one of those weird ones which split. So there’s 16 teams, all play each other twice. Then after that the top 6 go into the “Championship” league and play each other again twice, middle 6 into a league where the winner gets into Europe and play each other twice and bottom 4 into a relegation league. St Truiden were in the relegation league so they played 12 games against the other 3 **** sides in the league which could inflate numbers for goals (I haven’t looked at how many this guy has scored and in what games). Playing for a top side you play 20 games against the other top 5 teams which, in theory, could massively effect your goals per game ratio even if you banged them in against the ****ter teams in the initial full league stage
Ah fair enough. He scored half a dozen against the top teams though. FWIW Onuachu would score goals in the Championship. For most teams he would be a great striker. I just don’t think he suits the way we want to play. He’s an ugly footballer who belongs in an ugly team. But he would be effective. From the admittedly few videos I just watched of this Bertucini guy, he looks a completely different type of striker. Far more suited to us. (He can actually run and shoot). Don’t think we can just write off an entire league because of one bad signing. There would be no leagues left eventually.
oh yeah I’m not writing anyone off based on that, just saying I’m wary of Belgian league players without additional info aside from x goals in x games. Same applies for the Greek league. If this comes off then hopefully he does well, don’t envy scouts trying to work out how players will do in different sides/countries/leagues where not everything is equal. It’s no wonder there are so many flop signings. Agree about Onuachu, he was signed for Jones ball then we binned Jones a week later and went a completely different direction. Another player who has suffered because of our poor management decisions.
Fair enough. With a Belgian manager who's managed in the Belgian leagues, I think we're going to be linked with a fair few players from over there.
I get this but equally he was player of the season whilst on loan at Portsmouth. Has as many caps as Kelleher for Ireland despite missing a year with injury. Is still at an age where most keepers are yet to develop. Too many people see something in him for him to be discarded. I just think his confidence is shot. I'd much prefer to bring someone promising in and have them compete against each other if Ramsdale goes than go down a loan/McCarthy/over the hill replacement. We've been over this I know but want to keep batting for Baz!
