This is going to sound a little silly, but it almost doesn't matter. He just has to be an improvement on literally nobody, as our club-trained numbers are so ****. I do think that he's a worthwhile signing regardless of that, though. Out of contract, experienced, plays both wings and would probably be happy with rotation. His only major weakness is his height, which I think Frank would be ok with. He switched Keane Lewis-Potter to left-back a lot last season and he's similarly small. Reuniting with Danny Rose?
They’re making up for last summer and replacing Trent and Robertson. I really like how they go about their business. There’s talk they’re interested in Marc Guehi too as Quansah is off to Leverkusen.
They sell players really well, for some reason. Clubs seem to be prepared to vastly overpay for some of their rejects. I have no idea what anyone else could do to emulate that.
Northern Echo claim that we've hovering around Dennis Cirkin, who has a year left on his Sunderland deal
He's got a year on his contract, so as things stand there's wiggle room to get him for a similar fee, or we could drill it down by offering a loan for someone like Ashley Phillips Though you have to wonder if it's his agent pressuring Sunderland into upping their offer for a new deal
The buy back was around £6million apparently. Even with a year left, they will want a lot more than that. Plus would he want to come back? Didn’t he leave to get regular football? Realistically he’s gonna be there to help the club trained numbers.
