TBH I have never rated Pardew that highly. He has done well at first at some of his former clubs, but then seemed to lose the plot a year or two down the line. When he came to NUFC I thought it was a major ****-up by Fat Mike, but he has done remarkably well in getting the players behind him and keeping the team spirit up. This is the time when we'll see if he has learned from past mistakes and can keep the momentum going. If he hasn't, then he'll let a good start slip away again. The comparison with Bruce is a good one, as they seem to be basically good managers with a bit of a blind spot, tactically.
Do you lot actually accept AFM as one of your own? I only ask this as he keeps trying to WUM us every damn match, which is understandable if you were above us, but when you're currently 18th in the league it's a little embarrassing.
I wouldn't say Pardew has a blind spot when it comes to tactics, and it is unfair to compare him with Bruce in any way, shape or form. We lost today mainly because we had no recognised CBs on the pitch, which isn't bad tactics. I would say, for the most part, our tactics have been brilliant this season.
aye, playing full backs at centre half because all your proper centre halves are crocked isn't bad tactics, it's bad luck. if he'd played a winger there, then you could question his managerial nous...
True, atleast they were defenders by trade. Although I'm not so sure about Perch. Four right backs in defence will never do any team any good.
i reckon he's rated about right to be honest. he's no mourinho, nor is he a duffer like dowie or joe kinnear. he's done a good job at newcastle so far, and has got some average players playing well, sorted out all the rotten elements of that squad (a lesser man and manager would have been too scared to kick barton and nolan out, but you can't argue that it was totally the right decision now), and brought in some cracking players (where would we be with the likes of cabaye and ba in our team??). the test is whether this can be sustained over a few years. sadly, he may find his good work hamstrung by the owner as well.
I agree with most of the mackems that our squad is a bit thin so when we lose key players we will struggle. However be fair to Pardew, he's been in charge for less than a year with one of the tightest boards around. He hasn't been able to fully shape this team yet into what he wants. Also as for having no plan B, well most teams can have plans A,B,C,D,E,F,G ect and not get more than 1 point off Utd, City and Chelsea and most teams would struggle against Norwich with their best 3 center backs out so...
im one of them mate and proud of it and if you can't take abit banter tuff. You have to be the sadist mag i've ever seen to try and come on here trying to stir it up with my fellow mackems. I dont need you to wind them up i did it myself with being a bruce in brigade so im probably hated more then any skunk walking. Come on mon get us above the mags so i can wum lol
so not only do you WUM, have a username that makes no sense and just generally act stupidly but you also though keeping Steve Bruce in was a good idea
It made me chuckle at the time because of it's sheer stupidity. I'm still absolutely gutted we lost, but the amount of fail (that has been pointed out already on this article) amused me, and took the edge off a bit!
Three of their last 4 games.. Norwich away.. Chelsea home... Man U away.... Results -1 point... How many points did we get in these 3 fixtures?
