Middlesex exceeding expectations already this season, even if they do not qualify for the next round. Next Surrey! That would be a huge scalp!!! Williamson will need a huge innings with important contributions from the rest. And the bowling has to be súper disciplined!
Oh mu goodness. I am shocked at this comment. I find the lack of understanding of cricket of the modern supporter amazing. So a batting side should chase down 11 runs per over for 20 overs.Could you hit 3 boundaries per over at balls Coming down you at 90 mph or against wiley spin???. I constantly be amazed how the unfit, overweight supporter is great in the arm chair. It does not work like that.8 . Hants scored 193, and lost. Deal with it
Have you seen the scores at Taunton this year? Before last night it was 228 plays 224, 235 plays 229. Only Surrey on the first night struggled (146). Given the batting surface and small boundaries, plus how deep we bat, I still maintain we should have chased that total. Somerset also didn't have Matt Henry last night. 210 is not as daunting a total as it was 5 years ago.
Lewis Gregory invariably chooses to chase if he wins the toss, and before last night all our wins were from batting second. The team reckon they can chase anything at Taunton, and there was no reason Hampshire shouldn’t have managed 210. It was certainly on until Brevis was out.
Silly loss of a review, by England just now. Quick bowler coming round the wicket to a left hander, pitches the ball outside the leg stump and convinces Stokes to review an LBW decision the umpire had correctly turned down.
TBH the batting strategy against Gloucs is fairly simple - don't let Payne run through the line up, hit everyone else out of the park.
