Eh?! I don't think people came on the thread specifically to have a go at you. There was an argument already in progress and people sided with what they agree with.

Fair enough with your comments mate. I'm bowing out now though.

@LD19SAFC comment about being the board leader was poor. I know you two have a clash of personalities and will never see eye to eye.

Apologies for derailing the thread folks.

That's precisely what happened and I replied as I believe I'm entitled.

They came onto a thread I was on, not the other way round mate.

Not only that it's a thread they both claim they don't want to be on.

There was no need for any kind of argument at all, if people don't want to post on here, so what?

And I've never done anything like calling people on here backward, that's as cheap as it gets in my opinion.

But don't have a go at them whatever you do.

We supposedly enquired about him in May as he has a £16.8m release fee release clause, either that was misinformation or the article is wrong on the price, I wondered if it should be in Euro but that would still be around £18m

Aye its been rumoured he has a 21m euro release clause but they're asking for 25m euro. Which is confusing.

southern a started this thread for one specific reason, to keep a list of all/any links to safc, which he intended to update when there were more links/when he had time...i think it is a good idea as many simply want to update themselves on any links rather than trawling through many pages to find very little, if any, info.

now the one thing i am trying hard to fathom is why people feel it is not a good idea, personally, i like to read the other thread as i like to hear other (more learned than me) opinions about players plus we all know anyway that most 'links' are agent talk trying to drum up interest and a bidding war...see early posts which included 'and the promoted teams' on most 'links', and this one is handy to simply check the names and do your own bit research.

You wouldn't think a thread about Sunderland on a Sunderland forum for Sunderland supporters would push people over the edge would you?

Some people are interested that Napoli's reserve left back is going to Rennes whereas some aren't ...

... not worth getting upset about imo.

How can you demand more than a release clause?

I don't understand how that is even possible. They surely have no choice if it's an actual release clause?

He’s a lunatic and FWIW I think we won’t pay that and it’ll end up somewhere lower than or on the release clause directly

If it's in a written contract I don't believe you can, that would obviously be 'breach of contract' and unenforceable.

I suspect these latest reports are press speculation based on agents trying to provoke a move.

If that's the case I'm not surprised the clubs are kicking back tbh.

Tbf the latest express report is likely correct as reports in ukraine are saying similar that we are in talks, player terms will be fine, just the clubs working on a fee. Dynamo owner was reported to want 5m more than the release clause, it'll just take a bit of negotiating you'd imagine

If it’s a release clause there is no negotiating. So it obviously isn’t a standard release clause

It’s all conjecture but the chairman can ask for what he wants, even if there’s a release clause. Doesn’t mean anybody would be stupid
    enough to offer it :D

my guess is the release clause doesn’t exist and was misreported
