Uk, French and German ministers to meet with Iranian officials this week to try and get negotiations going again. Iran for their part have said all along that they are willing to negotiate, and indeed were due to meet with the US this Sunday before Israel attacked them. I’m optimistic that talks will get going again. Trump for all of his bluster and guff, knows that Iran will attack US bases in the Middle East if Trump drags the US into direct conflict with Iran. And whilst the US have the firepower to unleash hell in Iran, I don’t think Trump wants to be known as the guy who took the US into another pointless war in the Middle East. Or have to deal with the consequences at home when US servicemen are brought home in coffins. I’ve also watched some footage of missiles hitting Tel Aviv and it’s clear that Iran, possibly with Pakistani weaponry have huge firepower that can bypass Israel’s iron dome. Some of those hits are terrifying and again it’s innocent people who are in the firing line. I’m just hoping that some calm heads can talk down the hawks in the next couple of weeks. Netanyahu is a lost cause, the bloke is a psychopathic maniac, but Trump I think can be brought onside; especially if it’s framed as him being the one that brokers peace.
Trump's a flat track bully who doesn't mind playing brinkmanship because he has some very tough 'buddies' ... Makes it funnier when it goes tits up for him ... as it often does ... e.g with Zelensky .... "you don't have the cards" ... Russian bombers get taken out by Zelensky's 'joker' ...
Yeah Trump likes to think he talks a good game, but he blows hot and cold, then changes his mind and world leaders see through it. So I think increasingly they take everything he says with a huge pinch of salt. That said, he’s unhinged and unpredictable. And Netanyahu so far has got him round his little finger dancing to his tune. I just think that Trump will want to put his own ego first in all of this eventually, he wants to be seen as the man who brokered peace and brought stability and I don’t think he wants to go full Tonto in Iran.
