Brevis is clearly the key for both sides here.

Never game over while Brevis was in. Now it is though.

 

Just went early, think it’s still the after effect of the football season.

 

Pathetic performance all round. Should be chasing 210 on this track in this ground.

 

Drop Pretorius for tomorrow. Fed up with him - far too many dot balls in the PP.

 

As expected.

Turning point was Dawson failing to run-out Goldsworthy, early in his innings, despite having all three stumps to aim at.

But it really doesn't matter. Tomorrow is the important one to win.

 

20 dot balls from 34 balls faced is nowhere near good enough. He scored 37 from the other 14 FFS.

 

Great result, I thought Goldsworthy’s spell was the turning point.

Done our NRR a bit of good too.

 

Overton is the best new-ball bowler in the Blast. He bowled excellently at Pretorius.

The guy can clearly bat.

 

Oh I don't doubt he can bat - and he wasn't facing Overton for all of those 20 dot balls. But he's there to get the innings off to a flyer, not bat deep. If he bats the entire PP, he should have a 50 unless Vince has more of the strike. If he scores another 15 runs from those 20 dots we likely win the game.

Why. Because he has been so **** over the last five years.? Don't think so. On football you can make up for lack of talent with effort. In cricket it is down to talent. He is having a bad run and will come again
