Fact, British Steel is Chinese owned and our Government ( us) have been bailing it out year after year. If we really want to call it British Steel then it should be still British owned then it would really be British Steel. As for Chinese Steel making trains go faster? Don't think it matters much on our side of the country. All the rail investment stops at Leeds. I thought we were promised super fast electric trains on the Hull to Liverpool cross Pennine route, according to Rishi Sunak when he was PM? Now even that stops/starts at Leeds. Is Luke Campbell on the case? British Steel my arse.
Just as I suspected And your mate comes along as expected , it’s got eff all to do with skin colour its cultures which I’ve said before. If you choose not to see understand or comprehend the issues that are increasing then stay as you are . This weeks politics should have triggered something. Ive got grandkids whose future I’m really concerned about . You do not bring poor people to a poor city nor do you take a risk with criminals that might be created or arrive within the system . You keep on believing all these ‘shops ‘ are legitimate self funding businesses who can afford the stock and refits ? . I have close contact with Nigerians who have come to work legitimately , strange how they’ve not opened shops like those . Maybe their lack of community prevents the funding ? I really don’t give a f*** if you think I’m a racist , I know exactly what I am and what I think is wrong with society and the crumbling fabric of this country and that includes the irresponsible uncaring rich as has always been . It’s f*** all to do with skin colour your simple leftie slur . Make sure you repeat it at the end of your next post so the audience remember that for you . The bigger issue is the educated left in their nice environs who’ve been allowed to take control of the media and so many other functions and apply their ‘ isn’t everybody nice ‘ attitude when we are not in some homogenous rose garden . I open my eyes I read I watch and I try to take a balanced view based on that . I DONT just read what you and your mate expect me to because I don’t dismiss conflicting opinions out right , whereas I think you two actually do. Time to call me a c*** like you usually do . It means absolutely nothing and never has .
looking for the laugh response button. Get a ****ing grip…stop watching GB news & take a countryside walk. City centres have always been **** holes , now they are multi cultural **** holes.
Arf Remember when you said black players are just big and strong and have no skill Always a belter that one
Just for info - the Chinese still 'own' but in name only, they no longer have any input in the running of British Steel; they'd been steadily running it into the ground and sabotaging their own business; since the Chinese owners were legally locked out early April by the Government the newly invigorated works has gone from strength to strength, both furnaces are up and running seamlessly, the order books are filling and the site is employing extra workers. It's making money , and NOT for the Chinese.
I was actually a ''double dipper'' for a couple of years - just to help the company out, as you do. That took me up to 40 years in the industry, 72 this year and the most retired of retired you can possibly be, selfish indeed
The Chinese have all been sent home under threat of arrest for sabotage of the plant. Unfortunately they have stolen the “recipe “ for British made steel in their time here.
That's pretty much the long term plan - a Government/private partnership to ensure that Great Britain doesn't become the only country in the G7 that is unable to make virgin steel from scratch, the ramifications of that are too long and boring for discussion here but, it's safe to say all the major parties were against that happening.
Aren't the blast furnaces nearing the end of their working life,if so,who's renewing them and will the Government go that extra mile and put some serious investment in? I think the Government has sunk around £100 million in thus far but as far as I'm led to believe the Chinese remain the shareholders?
Is it not the case that you are entitled to use a certain amount of the pavement outside a retail outlet? Shops on Hessle Road and Holderness Road have been doing it for many years.
