I think.it was a Montpellier Snake but he is upside down. There is an excellent App called 'Seek ' which we use to wildlife and plants. Free to download. Hope this helps.
Thanks Ian. Just downloaded the app to my phone. I’ve been trying to identify a bird that keeps flying off before I can get too close, brown but with white markings on the wing and tail feathers, iirc, which only seem to be noticeable as it flies away. I will have to see if I can spot one on my next walk.
San Tejon Sounds like the bird may be a pipit of some sort. You get loads of Meadow Pipits on Stockbridge Down and i saw Rock Pipits in Cornwall back in April. There are 3 regular species in uk plus Richard's Pipit as an odd migrant. Spain has 12 species of pipit !

I get a very demanding crow in the garden most mornings who chases the cat (18yr old silver tabby) away from his breakfast and if there isn't anything left proceeds to throw the bowl around the patio in a huff. We also have two chihuahuas (1 bramerita and 1 sable fox - I think, she was a puppy farm rescue so not sure) who like to chase away the pigeons but get a little bit confused when the big black pigeon doesn't fly away and gives the tiny dogs a sideways look as if to say "really"
I can hear the commentator already. Incredible goal, Lola took one touch of the ball and absolutely buried it. Literally buried it.
@RSS Following your picture the other day of a deer just a few metres away, I've added this short clip I took this morning at home. Well, it's not actually me but it could be. I have a question for all you cat lovers out there. It's often said that dog owners start to look like their pet as they get old together. My question is, is that the same for cats and do any of you look like this? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/videos/c04ekwxn5vro
We’re very lucky to live in a built up area but have largish garden which backs onto a small bit of woods. Have plenty of foxes & cubs at mo, resident crow, squirrels & more recently a doe that has absolutely destroyed my wife’s roses!
No Ever since I mentioned it I haven’t seen it again. I saw a green lizard today, about 30cms long, but couldn’t get close enough to photograph it (I only have a iPhone for a camera) before it disappeared into the bushes. A Google search indicated that it might be an Ocellated Lizard. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocellated_lizard
Lovely and hot today, thought I’d share a picture of the sun today from my garden using a solar telescope. Quite clear for something that is 93 million miles away and the light takes 8 ½ mins to reach my scope. For perspective, the smallest sunspot is larger than the earth.
I always find it amazing that we can see that far, let alone photograph objects so clearly - great pic!
Don't Bellshill us man, that is just a ping po g ball after you grand daughter has beaten you 21 to 5
ALERT. No7 FINDS ANOTHER WEBSITE ON HOW TO MAKE SPOOF STORIES SEEM REAL. ALERT. After your made up story about VAR in the championship, I'm very wary about all your posts now. Looking at the sun through a telescope? Yeah, that sounds like a good idea.
*Solar Telescope https://www.firstlightoptics.com/be...30-all-in-one-smart-apo-telescope-tripod.html also does really good deep sky imaging. The ‘Whirlpool’ Galaxy. 51million light years away.
