If only Acun had dawdled pulling the trigger, he could have got millions in compo!

Weren’t Selles and the players not that fond of each other? If that rumour was true, he had to leave regardless.

Kind of, but if they play well under him then it does shine a bit of a light on our squad. I'm not expecting us to have been competing with them last season, but all those games where we created next to nothing I've had a feeling is more down to player confidence than Selles. That being said, I do think Selles' selection choices were a bit random a lot of the time.

Based on squad alone, you'd expect Sheff Utd to be in the mix no matter their manager.

I guess we'll see whether in his time here he was limited by himself, or limited by our squad. I strongly suspect its the latter, and expect him to do well

Some of the ITK had made out that some of the players and coaching staff didn’t exactly see eye to eye with Selles and didn’t really buy in to his methods. I can’t remember who now I think it was Orange.

Sacking somebody like Wilder only goes to reiterate how ridiculously demanding football has become these days. It’s always been competitive, but it’s quickly become a cut throat business now and loyalty and common sense have all but gone. As far as the Championship is concerned, more and more owners now look at clubs who do go up and salivate at the financial offerings success would bring to the boardroom. Despite the denials, Mid table mediocracy or a decent Cup run no longer satisfies today’s supporters appetite who quickly lose patience after a couple of defeats and want success at any cost.

    Hes not itk

Managers though just need good man management first and foremost

    Look at heckingbotham
Promoted to the prem with sheff u
    Almost relegated with preston

Wilder sacked by boro after doing ****
    Almost promoted again

    Fact is
95% of management is having a good squad
Then fine tweaks here and there
Can a manager make a diff

Yes, you see it quite often where a different coach comes in and turns things around with the same squad of players.
Having said that, some combinations don’t work because one or more of the many variables that make a team successful is missing or not in alignment.
It’s not that different to any other workplace in that respect, sometimes everything falls into place and it just clicks, other times it doesn’t.

Changing a manager usually has short term benefits for a struggling team

    Its new
    Exciting
    New sense of purpose

It has no real basis on the managers ability

    Thats long term stuff

Obviously that's extreme but there is a valid point there. Even today when he's talking about Kyle Joseph being young it sounds dismissive of his ability. There are much better ways that could be worded. But again he's a fan and he talks like one rather than talking diplomatically.

I don't wish Selles bad, but I hope Sheff Utd's gamble on him fails miserably, and it may well do. That could then be just about the end of their PL days advantage and they end up in disarray and join Wednesday struggling at the bottom end of the table.

while id like selles to do well
i want sheff utd to fail and since he's their manager, then i hope he fails
them losing their parachute money would be much better for the league
