I worked in a place that specialised in Stag conversions , changed out the Triumph V8 for the Rover V8 or those cars that still had a decent engine we fitted a larger all aluminium Radiator with twin electric fans and a large oil cooler with its own electric fan

The Herald / Vitesse owners house was easily identified by the rusty oblong pattern on their driveway where the car dissolved before their eyes , the vitesse was a great car if you could fight the rot , briefly had the Triumph 2.5 pi estate until the injection system became too expensive to repair

I was once the owner of this lovely Triumph 2500 (not PI) with overdrive, which was remarkably reliable M Reg (late 73) I had it from 1983 - 1987

Off to see Pulp tonight at the O2.

Been in Margate for 3 days and am bloody knackered. Last thing I need is standing for 4 hours in a steaming hot venue.

Thank **** we've dropped the car at my mates pub in Charlton and are driving home after.

Still should be a great gig. I just hope that I can stay awake.

    Yep agreed.

A mate went through 2 back in the day and I always loved the shape. Decent ones fetch good money now and a surprising number built still survive today.

It's on my 'mid life crisis" car list for next year, although the wife thinks I'm well past that!! <laugh>

Of course!! <doh> Although I have a feeling there was quite a lot of crossover with the Stag.
But age may be taking more of a toll on my memory banks than I thought! <laugh>

    Update on the Pulp gig:

Absolutely ****ing brilliant! Great sound and stage show. All band members on top form, with full string section.

Great set list with balance of new/old stuff. Very decent crowd, but some seats/boxes empty. Met some lovely people, 2 of whom we're meeting up with @ Sex Pistols gig and another at Forever Now.

You could tell that they were loving it. It was being filmed, so will get to relive it.

Having promised myself and Mrs B that we wouldn't go to see The Stranglers whilst in Southampton, Mrs B's phones presence in the town was spotted by a mate, who offered us a pair of free tickets. As our daughter had partied herself into oblivion, we had no choice but to attend. Bloody great!!

We fell in love with Margate on our recent flying visit. So we've booked tickets for the Sex Pistols/Stranglers/Buzzcocks gig on 23rd August. Hotel accommodation is off the scale expensive, so we're out of there, by train, shortly after it finishes around 23.00.

However there is a train at 00.30 that takes 7 hours (SEVEN ****ING HOURS) to go from .Margate to St Pancras...

    WTF is that...?

I tried to look for it, but I couldn't find that exact one. I do believe that I've worked it out, though.
There's a later one that has one change and that's where the time comes from.
Goes to Ramsgate, which takes 13 minutes and you have to change for the rest of the trip.
The next train to St Pancras arrives at Ramsgate at 7.05! <laugh>

There's one at 23.15 that takes 2h20m, if that helps.
Might be a bit tight on that finish time, though. Should still make it...
