Fans of all clubs can at times embarrass themselves through total stupidity. Its just alot of Newcastle fans seem keen on doing it on an industrial scale. These gigs just typifies their mentality. 'All you local Sam Fender fans? Whether you support Newcastle or not? Whether you even like football or not? If you've bought a ticket, you are going to have this Saudi backed football ****fest shoved down your throat whether you like it or not!' My wife likes his songs. She also has no interest in football. She couldnt understand why I wouldnt take her to St. James Park to see him. After the weekend? Now she understands and is pleased she didnt go. And she is probably not the only one who has been ostracised from seeing a performer they actually like due to something being organised which can only be described as a Toon Rally! Chanting football songs during a gig, hadaway man? Cup shown off by Town player? Calling out Sunderland fans? Well there were probably quite a few SAFC fans in the crowd, having their special expensive evening dampened by the vomit inducing spectacle surrounding them. Did Sam care about them? Did he ****! And that there, is your typical plastic Town fan.
It is quite strange the difference between the 2 sets of fans, actually I cant even describe them, they are so far up their own arses its staggering
My daughter did go with friends - said his music etc was good - he must be on a big kick back for NUFC shirt sales as he must lose a bucket load through not selling his own merchandise which a significant number of fans would buy a tour T Shirt
Good point! I almost always buy a gig t shirt! Have Eagles, Page & Plant, numerous Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Van Halen, Pretenders, Foo Fighters etc etc! All from gigs. That said, he’s not short on cash!
And all it took was the richest state in the world buying them and spending 600m on players. But they’re “building it” of course, not buying it!
TBH marra, I try to keep away from the whole politics thing, I have views, but after labour shafted pensioners I wont be voting again
I 'm wondering where the investment in the region and city is. If I'd been the saudi's , the first thing I'd have done to be popular would have been to pay for Tyne Bridge -- the cost mere coppers to them. Was in Newcastle on saturday, and on Northumberland street for first time in years . Presumably its the utility companies that have taken up paving slabs done their work and then just slapped tarmac down --- what a mess for the towns main street. Again surely the saudis could sort easily
£60 for an adult Champions League ticket £30 for an adult FA Cup ticket £20 for a Carabao Cup ticket All regardless of opposition… Expensive time to be a genuine match goer for the Saudis.
Bit harsh that mind. They've had to spend tens of millions on a new training centre to replace the Benwell tip. They have built a new training centre haven't they?
I don't think they've built one actually! The Saudis are in it to put lipstick on their abdominal face. Nothing more.
