You realise that you've opened the door to a series of bird-related puns? To quote Dorothy Parker "What fresh hell is this?" Or, less subtly: 'Stone the crows'
I loved George Lawrence when i was small. Saw him once score against Leicester when the ball bounced of his neck. He was a cult figure. Didn't he become a postman ?
I suspect you meant Sheffield Utd, but if there is a Sheffield Stud job, I wonder what the KPIs will be?
Sheffield United sack Chris Wilder to go and replace him with Ruben Selles. Can't help but think that is bizarre. Probably good news for Saints though.
On another note it's mental how many manager changes have been in the championship this year. Of the 18 clubs in it last season only 3 will have managers appointed before 2025 and you'd expect Rohl to leave to make that two - skates and Preston.
Decent signing for Wrexham, though not spectacular. Looks like they are trying to establish at this level for a while rather than push on. Just looked at their squad and it is massive, gunna struggle to bring too many in without offloading a few as well.
I wouldn't. Generally want to avoid playing a newly promoted team at the start of the season. They will in theory be at their most dangerous and we will in theory be at our weakest (in terms of momentum, mentality, playing style, some players still here that want to leave but haven't yet etc.). We were away to newly promoted Sheff Weds last time and barely got over the line thanks to a late winner and we had the likes of JWP, Alcaraz and Tella playing for us still. Then when we played them in the reverse later in the season it was a routine 4-0 win.
