Swap for Helguson? Now there's a lad who can head a ball Hope he plays against the scum next week he'll win every ball over JEvans
I know sorry I never thought I'd say it myself until I watched Carroll mind u Dzeko looked worse than either of them when he signed for City but wouldn't mind having him now so guess there's hope for Big Andy yet
Playing better without Carroll is a myth, we play just as well with him in the team. But the problem there is that we don't give him the service he needs in the box. Against Fulham the only opportunity we gave him that I can remember was his 10 yard snap shot on goal, other than that he holds the ball up well and feeds Saurez. Our results with him starting in the team so far this season have been good. Had he played yesterday we could easily have been talking about how well he played and the goals he scored for us.
I think we do play better without Andy- or at least, we play a style of footie that I prefer. This isn't a dig at the lad, I want him to come good, but I think we're much more lively and threatening with the line-up we had yesterday. The faster, more mobile pass and move is far better to watch and more effective imo. We're still having problems remembering where the goal is, true, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time. Maxi is always involved when he gets a game, Kuyt had his best game for a long while, and Suarez seems to thrive on it too. Hell, even Downing looked better. Bellamy fits that style of course too. Wish he could keep his gob shut though. I feel sorry for Carroll, the fee is a weight on his shoulders and the expectations on him (fuelled more by the media and wums than our fans, btw) too high. But sod the price tag, the money will be recouped by success anyway, what matters is that we win. If we can do that by playing a more fluid, exciting style of football, all the better.
