He’s not free. He’ll be getting about three mil a year so he’d better be good enough for first team when he’s called on. What an underwhelming signing to begin with. We can but hope he’s another Tanaka style signing

I agree with you but even a £20 million signing in the premier league these days is a gamble, look at scum, £80 million each on Maguire, Anthony and Pogba and all were ****. We could get lucky or not but there’s little to no risk in trying him (other than relegation of course )

Barely seen anything of Bijol mate, and never think highlight reels of centre halves show you much! I was so so re Cresswell, he was young and raw, and I'd have been happy to keep him but wasn't too despondent when he moved. Whether Farke doesn't like that type of player or whether Cresswell was demanding game time and a move if he didn't get it? No idea. Like you say, another load deal seemed obvious choice but hey. Back to Bijol, from what i've read he's better on the ball than Cresswell and can play left or right side CB. Also used to playing in a 3, though farke very rarely plays a back 3. If we play our normal system we need defenders with recovery pace. If we're expecting to play on the counter - and my guess is we'll have to play like we did at burnley and west brom regularly this season it's less of a deal.
My initial thoughts when I saw this earlier was these are supposed to make a player look better than they actually are and if this is the best they can do!! However, I tried refraining from mentioning it as I was going to attempt to remain positive about him joining
Feel this new lad is a squad option/replacement for possibly Joseph? As long as he’s not the main new winger/10/9 then that’s absolutely fine. It’s about building a good squad and he’s been playing Bundasliga so should do alright.
