Is it the Keith Andrews that played for Ireland, Wolves, Blackburn etc? Sounds a risky appointment but if anyone was going to get that sort of hire right, Brentford would be high on the list.
From someone within the the club. Apparently as a few of their fans have heard the same thing. if it pays off great, if not… they’ll be around the bottom 3
Was he not Wilder's assistant at Wembley? Mayve not. But a garrulous talking head on the telly too if I'm on the right one.
Right! Must have imagined that! I can remember him being at Sheff Utd mins, so that'll have been it. Big risk mind, and a big chance for him.
I hope he absolutely ****s it. I’ve nowt against Brentford they are a stunning story but if they shank the appointment then we are better off.
Re Andrews. Going back a bit but he was well regarded as a young coach. If the memory isnt playing tricks on me it was MK Dons where he was assistant for a while. Spent time with Ireland to under Kenny. I did always expect him to get a job somewhere but I have to say this is quite the first job. I have a feeling following Frank is a bit like following Fergie. Brentford have never known a time like it under Franke. Massive adjustment for players and fans alike for me. In all likelihood an insider is probably their best bet.
If anyone knows what they're doing it's Brentford. Frank himself was an internal appointment after Dean Smith. Andrews is highly rated and speaks very well.
Interesting appointment mind, if it's him. But it is a very, very tough league and it's impossible to know who can handle it until they've had a go at it. Won't help losing one of their best players either, but they are a well run club, so he has a chance. A big chance and he's a lucky boy to get it.
