Alternatively, spending a load of money on players that don't speak the language or know the league could be seen as risky as, I agree, we "have to get this right". All a matter of perspective.
Great idea. Fire the scouting setup that has so far invested our money so well that Howe and the recruited players have: 1. Saved us from near certain relegation. 2. Qualified for the Champions League after about 20 years failing to do so and multiple years where struggling to survive in the league was the best we could hope for. 3. Won our first major domestic trophy since 1955. 4. Qualified for the Champions League for the second time in 3 seasons. But hey, we haven't continued to spend money when we couldn't afford to under PSR restrictions and we haven't signed anyone in the first week of this first summer transfer window, so yeah, the scouting and recruitment are all obviously useless and everyone associated deserves to lose their jobs for failing to satiate the impatient and needy.
Sky Sports reporting that we're showing a keen interest in Jacob Ramsey, who's available for £30m, apparently. A rumour that leaves me feeling... Uninspired.
All players linked are left side of the pitch. Despite needing a right winger and a right side centre back
Would be an improvement in that he stays fit more, but a fully fit and firing Willock is probably the better player (though admittedly that's me judging Willock with black and white specs on).
I think Willock needs to be playing week in / week out to get the best out of him. However he can't stay injury free to do that and is also not going to displace one of our midfield trio on the regular. Without this run in the team, I think Willock is mostly useless at the minute. Getting Ramsey in as Midfield cover should Willock leave feels like a new opportunity and a better option to me
Just had a quick scan of Villa fan opinions on Ramsey. The summary - the player has the odd good game, but is mostly bang average and is far too injury prone. Sounds like a good one.
