Absolute weirdos on there man, the player is not even 20, has one of the best physical profiles in the game, fantastic and rapidly improving technical ability and an attitude and mentality of a seasoned pro. What more can a young player have to make a club want him. And I’m pretty sure dortmund aren't stumping up a potential club record fee for a ****ing name.
Yeah unfortunately seems they’ve shortened the odds significantly since then, loads must have lumped on. It was 10/1 this afternoon when the news of the fee being agreed broke.
Don't think we are blocking his move at all. Dortmund have been playing games in the media whilst we have maintained a fairly dignified silence. We have set a price and they have tried to low ball it and have been caught out. It certainly seems like we are trying to get the best deal for us and Jobe and on the face of it are representing both sides of that coin. In my opinion Sunderland have been instrumental in his development but all this talk of blocking and stuff means that we are now only a feeder club for top European teams which I find hard to accept. When we sign players it should be so they are part of our project and not to be a stepping stone for another team. For the record I believe Jobe was fully committed to this and represented the club with passion and commitment and am happy enough that he has decided to move on, but the suggestion that we roll over and have our bellies tickled because Dortmund tried to pull the wool over our eyes is a bit soft centred and our team are luckily a bit more savvy than that. My final word on this If a player was to sign for us only because we offer a good route to first team football and a chance to move on and the club sold him at the drop of a hat, how would that resonate through football. We would be a club who doesn't care and is only bothered about profit and not the players, luckily as KS has said many times. If we are negotiating we will find the deal that is best for both parties and continue to look after players and the club as best they can.
Poor old Coventry, horrible club. horrible supporters and a horrible history who could ask for more , a horrible future perhaps that would do me.
Dortmund are missing out here mind, why employ all those analysts, all those scouts when ron from wallsend could do the job from his bedroom in his Mam’s house
Good luck to Jobe. I think we were as good for him as he was for us. Just as it all should be. We will miss him mind, we missed him when he wasn't playing this season. But they will have known this was coming, so they'll have a few possibilities lined up I'm sure, even if I haven't heard of them!
Not sure how true this is hendo won’t be in the England squad on Tuesday. He’ll be heading further afield of there. is willing to take a wage cut too in joining again not true how this is, So please don’t come for my next of this is lies
The lad that used to leak the team on Twitter was hinting he signs after the internationals and has been given the number 6 shirt
Good luck to Jobe, that lads going right to the top. Glad we've stood firm. You could argue, at the time, the Clarke fee was low but it was probably a decent fee when no one else really bid and we wanted an earlier deal than the last day. But to get 10m for Stewart and close to Jobes buy out + 15% is class tbf. Looking forward to seeing what they do with it. I've said it a few times, but I think we'll already be down the line with someone to replace him/midfielder (not Henderson) we've known he was off for a year, just didn't know what league we'd be in. I'm guessing Romano will tweet our next signing this week.
