I was as critical as anyone else of the chances he missed last season and the points it cost us, but think back to the adage about strikers and getting in the positions to at least miss chances....I think he gives us something different to the other CMS we have and think he's a good dependable squad option, won't be on silly wages and the only reason I could see to sell him would be if we were getting a silly offer for him
We need long term players as well as refreshing and losing deadwood. The promotion team of 2008 had players with family's living in the area. The club meant something to them. Too many fly by nights at the club these days
No wonder he always looked knackered when he played for us last season,2 jobs is far too much for any man!! Get ****ing rid,he's a wrong un... As for London,my Grandad used to live in Ilford when it was nice...I'll say no more
Looks like Jacob and Simons are on the move. Hull City duo expected to complete moves away from MKM Stadium as transfer update emerges - Hull Live
Seems fair enough though, both are at an age where they need to play regularly and that’s not going to happen here next season. Sell on fees for both in the deals would represent good value.
Hull City have already been told what to expect from ex-Sheffield United star Oli McBurnie - Hull Live
I really enjoy my mix of Chelsea life mon- fri & then back up north to the country life on a weekend. I couldn’t live in London full time though
Yeah I don't like it. Seems like every summer we have these outgoings of solid, reliable players while there's no manager. It's like Acun is quickly getting rid of as many unsexy players as possible whilst no one is there to oppose it, so that we can later scramble to replace them with more expensive, less reliable players from abroad.
I thought we had a brain drain team sorting transfers. Didn't we get Simmons from Chelsea? another one who was going to be the next Messi or Ronaldo.
Picks the players and it was rumoured on several occasions he was picking the Team...Sh!t at both if true
Yeah I can't say they can be classed as irreplaceable; if we're losing and you see them coming on in the 65th minute, it doesn't make you think "here we go, game changing subs". I understand the reticence to lose what seem like solid players, but in reality, they aren't what I'd consider to be Championship standard players and I think the fact they're English pumps up people's perception of it. Vaughan is another one I wouldn't be bothered about seeing go, but he is on the younger side and this might be his last season to stake a claim. I do agree that their replacements shouldn't be random Eastern European lads, but we can do better than both of those. I wasn't arsed about Jason Lokilo leaving and he only made 4 less league appearances than Jacob has.
I wouldn't be concerned if they left, I'd be concerned if the player coming in wasn't already (almost) here first. Which sounds difficult to do given that you usually need to shift players out first, but if there wasn't news that somebody at least equally capable was coming in or due for a medical, then yeah I'd worry. FWIW, I don't think we'll see Puerta leave if Alzate does go. We don't need to sell him this Summer, he knows the club and he's a talented player. Unless a PL club is going to come in for him and pay us an eight figure fee, I wouldn't be entertaining it.
Maybe they’ve just thought the last 3 managers haven’t rated them, so the chances of the next one rating them is slim.
I would imagine with the level of technology available these days, it wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility that the new Head Coach (whoever he is), is already in regular contact with Dublin & Hodge etc. and being allowed to agree or veto any decisions that he wasn’t happy with? Obviously not ideal but are the players even back in yet and if not, he wouldn’t really have any more information to work off than he can have access to, wherever he is? I’m sure his family will understand if he has to take a bit of time out each day to have conversations with representatives of his new employers.
He might not want to. When I had a week off between jobs I didn't want to be checking in with my (soon to be) new employer if I didn't have to.
I would imagine you might have a different view if the trajectory of your career may well hinge upon some of these decisions and bearing in mind the sort of salary he’s going to be on. If you were going to be responsible of a team of say 30 staff and you were given the opportunity to have a say in the hiring and firing of a good few members of that group, I think most people would want to have their input heard.
