Might be an option Curd - probably not Championship level yet Sharman-Lowe - probably not Championship level yet Bettinelli - old and not what we want Bergstrom - not sure how good he is Penders - probably above Champioship level So yeah if we want a keeper from them it likely would be between Slonina, Bergstrom and Penders but don’t know how feasible any of them are. Chelsea have loads of players in every position so I’m sure there would be someone if we went down that route
I expect the main part of our summer business will be loans since the rules are much less strict and limiting than when in the PL. Can have up to 5 in a matchday squad. 4 from each club if 2 are under 23 etc. We in theory will be well placed to hoover up some of the best loan options from PL clubs.
Yeah this is definitely the route we should go down, and was a large part of why we went up previously. Just make sure you don’t get duped by the loanees and sign them all permanently if you go up using half your budget doing so
No. Hearts want him to re-sign, but his head has been turned by clubs that can offer him better wages, and at his age it’s fair for him to do that. His ‘drop’ in form this season, was down to the fact that their manager, who was eventually sacked, decided to switch Shankland from number 9 to number 10, basically operating as a CAM behind two other front men. The manager was very unpopular among the fans for this, but was too arrogant to change it. This is all from a Hearts fan.
Yeah I think the main stumbling block will be price. I can’t see us taking a 50% loss on him this summer. He probably will want the move though and obviously there were rumours about him refusing to play, so our hand may be forced some what
I can’t see Rangers matching his salary either, I will be surprised if anything happens here…….then again it is Saints
Transfer fee definitely looks like an issue. A quick google and it appears they haven’t paid more than £5m for a signing in over 20 years so can’t see them getting close to what we would want for Downes
