I think Frank is the best pick. Tactically flexible, good man management, proven at working within a club’s boundaries so a wet dream for Levy and has also proven he can get a club to punch above its weight, when you look through that Brentford squad, there’s a lot of Championship calibre players in that and he’s kept them competitive for a number of years now, even after losing stars.
Before the final, if rumours are to be believed. Al-Hilal announced him with a compilation including audio from his goals. One of them was his brother's from the 2007 Champions League final, though.
Yeah Frank is the one for me. Iraola risks being too much like Ange on the pitch in my opinion. I don’t know what Frank is like off the pitch though. The players loved Ange and would have gone to war for him. Hell, many of us fans would have. I think we’ll probably lose a few names this summer because of the decision.
We have to do everything we can to keep Romero but he’s the one I do expect to push for a move now. Losing him ****s us and the new manager instantly.
He was clearly pushing for a cut-price move to Atletico anyway. Missed half the season and already had a bunch of excuses lined up.
I have been informed of chatter that Palace may not get a UEFA slot due to their club ownership structure. If true : Glasner ... ??
Been quite the disappointment for me. Nowhere near the number + level of performances for Spurs he routinely seems to give for country (and Spurs aren't changing their first kit colours to the latter) .
I’d be pushing for a move if I was a Spurs player throughout the season tbh. Barring the last 4 weeks where we were in the semis and final, there was **** all to enjoy. That said, Romero seemed very fond of Ange, as did most/ all players. Regardless of what I thought of his managerial ability, his persona and ability to galvanise players was pretty special.
This isn't even chatter, it's an ongoing issue for them that they're trying to resolve. Their majority owner is John Textor, who also has interests in other clubs. UEFA have decided to enforce their rules (somewhat inconsistently) against multi-club ownership. You basically can't have two clubs in the same European competition. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cx2r608jgp6o I think there's also an issue about them dropping into the Conference.
I erred on the side of non-gobbsh*ttery. If Palace get it sorted, then I hope Glasner stays with them. If not, make him the offer.
I’ve also added Xavi, his name did flash up quite a bit a few weeks ago. Very much an outside shot though. I’d say strongest candidates are Frank and Iraola. I’d make Frank the heavy fav at the moment too.
I'm sure that a lot of our players think that they should be finishing higher in the league. I agree with them, although some of them are far from blameless themselves. Postecoglou certainly talked a good game, but we were abysmal for most of the season. Our casualty list piled up every week and he was bailed out by kids for months. I like his personality and preferred style of football, but it simply wasn't going to work.
