It’s a good core. If we nail the 4-5 we are fine.

Hume, Enzo, Mayenda.
Cirkin if fit.
Neil and Mundle will grow into the league.

You've then got Alese and Huggins who absolutely have prem ability.

I want us to buy appropriately and compete but I’d be gutted if we tore this team apart. Speakman seems to have made that clear, we won’t.

PS I don't think Speakman even knows how many we'll bring in. The market is too unpredictable for that. We don't know how many will leave. We don't know if the type of player you can't say no to might make themselves available.

For instance I don't reckon we were necesarilly after Le Fee... he just became available and was too good an option to turn down. That could happen on the 30th August again.

So if Speakman doesn't know exactly how many, no journalist will.

 

Just to go back to Keith, the wording on the Henderson part is just flat out bad journalism. Wording it so he can't be called out for being wrong either way.

I reckon 10 total. But 2-3 of those will be youth / squad players in the same kinda style as (better versions of) Hjelde and Aleksic.

Yeah probably not unreasonable, I don't have a number in my head at the minute.

If I was going to think now maybe:
10/11 depending on outgoings, would sign a couple kids to loan out immediately.

 

No idea what’s best for Sterling next. He’s only 30 but hasn’t performed for a long time now

 

I still think there might be another outgoing that we don’t want. Either Neil or Hume.

And then I think we ideally need to loan out Hjelde and Huggins. Which leaves us diabolically short at full back.

Harrison Jones and Aleksic also need loaning out.

And that’s just from the squad who finished the season. I’m not even thinking about the deadwood like Bennette, Rusyn, Matete etc

and **** knows what we do with Poveda who gets his own category BELOW deadwood

We've known Jobe was going to leave this summer for a year. We just didn't know what league we would be in.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if we're far down the line with someone to replace him.

 

We won't be bringing 10 in.
