Deserved the win I reckon. Blackpool tidy but not much end product.

If only Steve De Ridder was good at decision making, then we'd be sitting 5 points clear after winning 3-2. No wonder we don't start him, he is rather diabolical, isn't he?

Shame I ripped my shin apart celebrating the equaliser.. :(

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway: "I don't know where the officials got five minutes extra (from). How on earth they reached that number I just don't know. Well you numpty, it was from the time wasting from your GK and substitutes walking off e.t.c. hoisted by your own petard.

I don't want to be, I really dont, but as every game passes I seem to be losing more and more faith in De Ridder. Thought he looked really promising when we first signed him.

Goals change games. We looked far better until they scored their first, then they had a good spell, we came out in 2nd half and I feel sure we'd have scored a couple, then they got their 2nd. We were always chasing then and getting more frantic so our passing game deteriorated, but we deserved the equaliser. What can we say about Bart..as Lambert said when you make a mistake as a goalie it tends to let in a goal. Glad to see Jos pat Bart on the back..hope he gets his confidence back if we should need him again (pray to God it's not next Sunday!). I was willing someone to score, not just for us but for Bart. Guly worked hard all game. Lambert also, was amazed how fit he was considering he'd been injured.
Amazingly, once again results went for us apart from M'boro; I never expected us to have stretched our lead as I left the ground. Adkins on OS says for the first time that our intention is to win this league..usually he's more circumspect. 3 Points next Sunday and all will be right with the world.

I stand by this following statement made by me after the game down teh pub; If we are top, or a couple of points off the top, come January then we will get promoted.

Let's hope I don't have to take it back come May.

Think I read somewhere last season that Capello (or maybe just the FA i general) had requested that the PL season finish slightly earlier this season, to give England more time to prepare for Euro 2012. So maybe that in turn lead to the whole domestic calender finishing earlier than usual?

Exactly sums it up as far as I am concerned. Bart is a liability and I think we need to look for decent goal-keeping cover as well as a new striker some the transfer window. Shame De Ridder didn't square the ball at the end and then it would have been a touch of the match back at the Dell around 94 when we came from behind to beat Newcastle ( I think) 3-2. Still one of the most electric matches I have seen and came remember my ears ringing after the match because of the noise.

The truth hurts for some people on this site about certain Saints players.

After having a large portion of Dhansak and several glasses of Malbec, I have a more comfortable if less focused view on today's game. The fact is that our keeper had a stinker, the ref was wearing orange tinted specs and yet we still got a point out of the game. This is the sort of habit which successful teams have. It's a shame to lose a record-breaking run of wins, but we're it not for Barts error it would have been a win again. Let us not despair for we are Southampton, and Channonfodder is half-cut again! ZZzzzzzz!

He's made as good a start as Guly did. Every player from a foreign country takes time to adapt. He's the most used substitute in the league, give him more time.

I don't understand why Lallana hasn't been criticised as much recently. He's been anonymous for several games now, apart from his goal against Hull.

Hmmm.. in Guly's case I think it was more to do with him being on a wavelength above and not knowing our players' games.

I'll give Steve some more time but vision and looking up are key skills for an attacking midfielder like him.

And Lallana was alright today. Not great by his standards but to say he was anonymous is harsh.

It seems to me that there are 2 types of Saints fans that go to home games at SMS. First, there are the 'supporters', who back the their side no matter what situation the team may find themselves in. Second, there are the 'customers', who feel that unless the team win comfortably and play superbly, then they are being 'cheated' and get on certain individual's backs. I'm really getting sick of these fickle fans, the team has given unbelievable value for money this past year at SMS, possibly the best value in the whole football league, why can't they just get behind the WHOLE team for 90 minutes like real supporters should?.
