I've never been a fan of Neil higher up personally but that would make the Henderson signing more palatable as the backup 6. Think my biggest fear is going into the season with Neil and Henderson as the deeper options, asking for trouble that
Must have been some background noise caused them to collapse so badly? Googled Tchato is the RB. Mind seen him twice max so I’m going of fleeting glances, can’t be that great given their record last season.
Needs to be paired with a better defensive player Jobe was fantastic and with and without the ball Neil not so much. ELF will be playing a deeper role in a midfield 3 I highly doubt we’re gonna be playing a 10 in the prem next season
We can pretty much offer him the starting RW position in the prem with a proven ability to improve a player and get him a big move when the opportunity presents itself. I’d be confident if we went in for him be more likely to warn other clubs benches
Agree think alot of us, me included are underestimating the pull of the premier league understandable with where we’ve been but if we can attract enzo in the champ there’s no reason we can’t get some very good players from Europe
Admittedly... I think I'd want him to be warming ours too. He's regressed since his ACL injury and needs a lot of time and attention to get back to where he can be.
I didn't mean that we couldn't get him from Copenhagen. Just that half of europe were in for him before his injury - Man Utd, Bayern Munich and others. His injury was a bad one which might put some off, but you'd think he'd have better options than us.
Maybe. Maybe he wants to play. Is he getting a game at United? They can have him if it means Amad is available after signing him and Mbuemo like
I mean he's never been premier league standard yet, the hype is because of how good he can become in the flashes he's shown - he got pissed off when he wasn't making the starting XI anymore and that's why he wanted to leave.
The thing I can't reconcile is that if you and I know that we need pace and physicality in the Premier League and you and I know that Henderson no longer has that and his 'legs have gone' then you can guarantee that the club know that too, so they must see something else to justify the signing. Is it just the leadership and influence side of things? Do they think they can set us up so as not to expose Henderson so much defensively whilst utilising his other attributes/abilities? We're generally a smart club now so if we're pursuing it there must be, in my opinion, some logic.
My guess is it'll be the experience thing. I'm not a big believer in experience mattering unless it's in the specific situation so I personally don't understand it.
I think the experience part is more off the pitch, Henderson is meant to be unreal in the dressing room - that's where his experience is useful I'm the same though I don't see him as a regular starter in the PL
Spot on, he played in a 2 - they would hold deeper positions when Hibs attacked but often 1 would push up higher Triantis is not a CDM at this stage, and definitely not at PL level
Talent and ability over experience for me any day of the week. I've banged on about it enough on here - if I'm being honest I'm a little smug that Browne had so little impact on the pitch this season after his signing was so heralded by those that had adopted the 'experience is everything' mantra off the back of last season.
