He's right about recruitment at least to a certain extent. It was just unfortunate that what he said was misunderstood and that it was then weaponised. We got in psr trouble and only look at a very small pool of players.
Think we’ll go back for Elanga personally. Swedish, talented, Forest need to sell. Elliots a bit of a nothing player. Feel we probably will get DCL. Something this summer will cause me to have a massive meltdown, this will probs be it. Trafford in a swap with Targett. Suspect we might overpay for a CB, one of Guehi, Konsa, Zabarnyi, Van Hecke. We could get Ramsey if Willock goes to Fulham.
I get his philosophy of finding young talent and developing them. BUT that can only work as part of the future build when you have a decent squad already in place. We didn't. In the meantime, we needed to spend bigger to get established players in who can make an impact now. So his comments were totally naive, or were purposely intended to stir **** up. Well, it looks like he doesn't like the taste of his own ****, so he's going.
We don't sign players like that and actually that's become more and more the case over the last 3 years. The more extravagant signings were very early on... I can see this window being very underwhelming unfortunately, but they'll be decent enough players.
I understood his comments, but unfortunately many didn't and thought he was saying the players were ****. Dofs need to be able to do their jobs. This summer we have to see what happens.
Hall and Tino were signings he singled out. More to do with being overpriced (in his mind) rather than ****. Unless you mean other specific commnts I've not seen?
That's according to Craig hope and we don't know who the players we've knocked back are. Craig hope is always holding heads up for this crowd. It's the same situation as I said before... I'm open minded about who's a bad guy and who's not because all I'm seeing a witch hunt without a fair trial. We will have to wait and see how things work out to get a better idea.... Maybe a 3rd dof won't run for the hills and maybe things will work out on the pitch regardless what happens off it.
Fernandes. Apparently they are getting £100m plus from Saudi. Thats actually bizarre mind as they are our owners and directly helping our competitors.
Saudi care way more about their league than they do about NUFC. Them raising their own profile on the world stage is far more important to them overall. They want as much top talent there as possible.
I agree that recruitment is not fit purpose because it comes across as expensive and a bit lazy. There hasn't been one single discovery that you'd require a network of scouts to unearth. We also ended up in psr trouble which resulted in losing players we did not to sell. This is not the same as saying recruitment crap and the signings are overpriced and not very good players. Somewhere down the line they'll need to be more creative, that's all and someone might not like it.
You read too many non stories about who we are close to etc. we'll be fine come the start of the season. Delap would never play second fiddle to Isak and Mbueno is always going to choose manure over anyone like us. I reckon Dibling might be the one we go for or someone from abroad.
The likes of Cunha and Mbuemo are good players but not elite players, i really don't care about not signing them, and they obviously have no personal ambition anyway joining that **** show. The likes of Isak and Tonali are elite, more of them please.
I actually always said we'd never sign them mate. This comment was a little tongue in cheek. Dibling would be right up our street though yeah.
