This week saw Elon Musk part ways with the White House, Gary Lineker present his final Match of the Day, and the world of television pay tribute to former BBC presenter and executive Alan Yentob.

But how much attention did you pay to what else happened in the world?

4 for me as well. Had high hopes for this one after getting the first three right.

    Cheers @Blond Bombshell.

    Guardian Thursday quiz
Glitching maps, missing bees and antique cheese – take the Thursday quiz
Questions on general knowledge and topical trivia, plus a few jokes, every Thursday. How will you fare?

    Martin Belam
    Thu 5th Jun, 2025 11.00 BST

One of these days, like an exciting curveball, the Thursday quiz is going to end up appearing on a Wednesday or a Friday, just to keep everybody on their toes, but not this week. It is definitely Thursday, and this is definitely an increasingly weirdly niche quiz about topical news, general knowledge, and pop culture, which is excited today to lean into genuine newsy questions about Sparks and Doctor Who. There are no prizes, sadly, as the Thursday quiz operates on the most shoestring of budgets, but we hope you have fun and will let us know how you get on in the comments.

    The Thursday quiz, No 213

    An average 9, enjoy

I got an impressive (for me) 12.
Even more impressive, i must have been on 12/14, as I got the last 2 wrong.
Obviously got the Nicko Mcbrain one right :emoticon-0178-rock:, but my guessometer was on form tonight.

    The 50% Guaranteed Quiz

    https://www.joe.co.uk/quiz/the-joe-friday-pub-quiz-week-454-490492

    Here is the quiz
You get through the first two rounds with ease, bar one slip of the thumb. You can’t be bothered to refresh the page so you continue, adding that one you actually knew but still got wrong to your final score. You see the words ’round four, musicals’ and let out a frustrated sigh/intrigued ‘ooooh’ (delete as appropriate). You are pleasantly surprised by its relative ease, because this is a quiz for everyone.

You have some confidence going into the final round, with a record score in your sights and just five questions remaining. What is your film knowledge like? This could be make or break.

At least, that’s how I hope this quiz goes for you. Good luck.

    An earth shattering 11

    11. Might go back to bed...

    Enjoy
