I would too. He's the sort of player we should be keeping and the likes of Fox should be leaving. That's where we are as a club nowadays.

"You don't win anything with kids."

But we don't win anything anyway (before you say it).

From what I saw of the U-21s, only Morgan could expect to be a regular first team starter. Walsh, Tuck, Sutton, Kolli, Esquerdinha and Bennie would be decent squad options, though

Esquerdinha and Sutton will make it.

    Bennie will be very useful.

Kolli only played a few minutes of the cup final...and didn't make the final...? Injured.
    Really don't know about him.

Walsh or Saloman will be our GK soon..can see us selling Nardi for money.
GK is an area we do have decent cover

According to WLS Espanyol have bid £5m in a package presumably including add ons for Varane. Rejected.

Yes saw that & that’s one player we should keep, maybe double that offer & we would think about it

One of the few bright spots from last season but I don’t think he’s worth £10m, at least not yet. And if the offer is genuine he will, I imagine, be seriously interested in trading up to mid table La Liga from bottom of the championship with a managerless shambles

And he was signed from Gijon so knows Spanish football well.....
Didn't he just sign a contract extension? Could be a decent bit of business for the right price....

An excellent signing and good to have got him signed to a new contact. Keep him for next season and he'll go for a lot more than £5m with reasonable progress.

They're not mid table, struggled all season and had to win last game to avoid relegation. I sincerely hope we keep him otherwise we're just taking another backward step. If we're ever to challenge we need to hold on to our best...

I agree. He got better as the season went on and if that continues then I don't expect him to be with us beyond another season. The more we can get the better. That's our businnes model after all.

A new defender for the Dev Squad ✅

Defender Timothy Akindileni has joined QPR’s Development Squad, completing a switch from Aberdeen.

The 17-year-old left-footed centre-back, who stands 6’4” tall, moved to Pittodrie in September 2023 following a trial.

Now he is excited to start a new challenge south of the border with the R’s.

“I'm over the moon,” he said.

“There was interest from other clubs but QPR just stood out for me because the development here for young players is extraordinary.

“You can see it through all the young players coming up to the first team, and that's what really persuaded me to come here.

“The whole point of going into an academy is to work your way up to the first team, because that fuels you to work harder every day.”

Akindileni has had an unusual football journey to date. He only came into the professional set-up when he joined the Dons less than two years ago from local side East End Lewis.

After impressing at academy level, he made his international bow for the Czech Republic Under-18s in March this year.

Now Akindileni is focused on the next stage of his career.

“Coming down to England is a big step,” he said, “but I think it’s an opportunity you couldn't turn down.

“It's just a great challenge for me and I'm really looking forward to it.”

CEO Christian Nourry said: "The club's continued focus on making acquisitions of players of Timmy's age and profile is further highlighted by his arrival today.

“He is a very exciting talent, who has the physical attributes to impose himself as a left-footed central defender at the professional level.

“On top of that, he is a young man with a level of maturity and focus beyond his years which we believe will make him eminently coachable. On behalf of the entire club, I warmly welcome him."

This transfer is subject to international clearance.

We've signed a kid called Kaleb Dyke for the youth team, and Nourry has said, “Kaleb is a natural leader who, despite his young age, possesses maturity and nous that allows him to play through Zones 1 and 2."

Worryingly I'm not sure there are many clubs in Zones 1 and 2. I'd have thought most London clubs aren't even Zones 1 and 2. Not going to be much use away from home this lad.
