think the fumes may create a bit of a problem indoors <whistle>

cos when i was young i used to spend lots of time in pubs / clubs used by bikers and had to regularly had to listen to schemes to stick an engine on my chair including one who turned up with a full schematic of a proposed setup <laugh>

Nah i was messing around on @brb suggestion of amputating my leg.

Saying that my stepdad has a wheelchair now. He has serious mobility issues as he has arthritis in both legs. He can about do a shopping trip on a cane but hes waiting on nhs for a knee op (which he wanted years ago) but was set back as his kidneys were messed up and wasnt allowed to have general anaesthetic.

Hes 1 year into a kidney transplant and so i think he will apply for the queue soon

I keep seeing adverts for smaller electric cars, I think one was a tiny Fiat. I'm starting to get the impression now with these adverts, having seen the Renault one has well, that they want to encourage people who just do local journeys to buy something like that.

I think with population increase and the future push for zero emissions, we'll end up like the Japanese, Kei cars...which is ok until some 6ft 5 guy who plays rugby and is from Wales attempts to get in it...

tbf electric cars ,if cheapish, make sense for lots as most journeys are quite short range

I agree, I think they are starting to realise they need to market electric cars differently and that's the way they will go, makes sense tbf.

I think before his kidney functioned at a very low level. Going under GA ould potentially render the function to zero as it puts the body under a lot of stress (one of the risks) so they advised against it heavily. Not after the kidney transplant, he has had to wait for it to settle and take before he was allowed to contemplate going for an op.

What i was told from my step sister who went with him.

think possibly because of increased sales it is now more possible to make small(ish) electric cars which are affordable .
Have to say i'm going to check out the Renault 5 as an electric car makes perfect sense for me but until recently most were higher than their petrol equivalents which i didn't want

Absolutely useless. That woman is stealing a living. She just screeched all the time, at one point, you would have mistaken her voice for the local pet store across the road being set on fire. I left after about 45mins.

I can't remember which model it is, but one of the big manufactures maybe Nissan, have just released an EV that is the same price as their petrol and diesel version.

That will be a game changer in terms of choice, because at the moment, price, range and charging anxiety are putting people off.

I also think electric bikes are the way forward for town and city centres. At the moment they've got a bit of bad rep because the old bill are confiscating things like Surrons that do 50mph, which are basically motorbikes that you don't need any licence, insurance or road tax for.

The law at the moment is ebikes should be restricted to 250w and 15.5mph pedal assist. Loads of Deliveroo and Uber eats drivers are using them and they make a lot of sense for commuters, deliveries, cargo etc.

But for anybody who travels into a town or city centre on their own for work, or to do a bit of shopping etc. Ebikes make a lot of sense and would save people a fortune on running a car 365 for similar purposes.
