I wonder if Ashley Phillips might form part of Dibling transfer if he does go to Spurs. Excellent young centre half with championship experience. Spurs have at least 4 cbs ahead of it and could include a buy back for ££.
Technically this is correct, but because every transfer is done this way, that £11m would also be added to all the installments they are paying for players bought in the past 4 or 5 years. So they can't really think of it as "just £11m" a year.
If we were interested then it would potentially help with negotiations. We’ve already signed one central defender and still have lots on the books. But it might give spurs an advantage in negotiations if he is a player we want
Wolves losing Cunha and Ait Nouri in the same window. Might give a promoted team some hope even if they will get a lot of money for the pair
Could have knock on effects for Dibling. Different sort of forward but most clubs won't be spending £50+ on multiple forwards. Spurs might step up interest in Dibling now they know this isn't happening.
We are all guessing but it does show what we already knew to an extent in that anything approaching a sure thing in this division is going to cost £15m or so. SRs hit rate in that bracket was....less than ideal...so hoping for a new dawn!!
It isn't SR making the decisions anymore though. Also, last time we were in the Champ we recruited very well.
