This is interesting. Seen some comments responding to this tweet saying a few of the players weren’t that fond of Sellés. Someone on here said Dawson wasn’t a huge fan of him either.
Isn't it often said they with any managerial change there's some will be happy, and some that will be pissed off? Think it's normal. At least he didn't go full Q&A and throw him under the bus.
Yeah, it’s normal. I’m not disputing that. Just find it interesting which players were fuming and which ones weren’t arsed about his sacking.
There's nothing in that piece of audio that proves anything one way or another. He clearly wasn't going to comment, but it could just as likely be that he thinks Acun is a madman and doesn't want to say so. Seems like a slightly desperate attempt to support a theory if people are really using that as an indication that the manager was unpopular.
Don't think it's hard to read between the lines. It's (almost certainly) more about what he chose not to say rather than what he did say. Meaning, if he was sorry to see him go then he'd have added something along those lines --- "great coach", "wish him well", "good to work with", "did a great job", whatever ... but he pretty clearly wasn't thinking that. Interesting. Initially I was a tad sorry to see him go, and would (marginally) have preferred him to stay ... but seems increasingly as though there was good reason, stuff we don't immediately see as obvious, for the owner / brains team having lost faith that he was the 'right' man going forward. I'm concerned about the replacement (again). However, I guess they see Jakirovic as a capable coach, and then the model being that it's largely Dublin and Hodges, who are very experienced in English football, responsible for the recruitment. I suspect signing Joseph was another watershed moment, that led to Hodges being brought in to strengthen the experience for recruitment. Hopefully this time it works.
Sounded to me as if he just couldn't be arsed getting drawn into a discussion about the goings on at the Club and erred on the side of caution when it came to judging his employer's decision...
According to some on here they all loved him , loads of crap summises based on eff all . If you keep looking for the negative you’ll find it somehow , it’s tedious .
You want all our managers sacked, we had a great manager, but you slagged him off every other post for six months.
It would be pretty strange if everybody loved Selles , especially the players who weren't selected for games
If you are going to have a go at someone, at least keep it real. In order of latest first: I was happy enough with the appointment of Selles. In fact, I thought, and posted, how his background was really interesting and that I was cautiously excited. During the 1st few months I was very positive and supportive of him. Things seemed to be going pretty well, he got us back to playing 'normal football' (the actual words I used) and I praised him for it. My criticism of him only started several games into that run after the international break where, as TC rightly said (and I re-quoted at least a couple of times), "he needed to find a way but he lost his way". He seemed to be finding a way just fine, then his decision making and our performances (largely) turned to ****e. Even then I didn't want him sacked!! I posted several times that 'on balance, I'd keep him'. I was ok with Rosenior being sacked as his style was as boring as **** and to me, whilst he talked a very good game, he seemed incapable of coaching attacking phase football. I was far from on my own at the time, although others have changed given time to reflect, or more to the point, due to the **** show of Walter and now the let down of Selles. In his last 6 months (that you mention), I started off questionning when this attacking football was coming, when we'd start to see his coaching of it, etc etc. Then, as it wasn't happening I became increasingly more questionning and critical of it. I wanted him to succeed but in the end I was fine with him being sacked. Practically everyone wanted Shota and Walter sacked when they were (some way, way before me). Look back if you want Just don't make **** up please.
Bees knees when he came,he was going to change Championship Football this tactical genius. You tube clips posted daily pronouncing 'Walter-Ball'(Whatever the **** that was)? Let down badly in terms of recruitment, hamstrung by promises that never materialised.Yes he certainly turned out a bit of terrible judgement but the support he got from the owner was negligible at best and we all need to hope that the 'next up' gets the tools required to do the job...If he doesn't we're going to be following a fairly familiar pattern.
A lot of truth in all that (obviously) but also massively ****ed by the loss of Millar and Belloumi, plus Giles turning ****e (for whatever reasons), plus Bedia turning out to be a dud.
I'm not talking about a sacked manager, but ones who leave during their tenure they've still broken the signed agreement
Can we please get wiggo and Chilli back, pretty please? Even though Wiggo was a bit of a miserable **** to work with.
