This one was on another level up from Wycombe. For me that game was seeing us win at Wembley after so many defeats. This time I don't think we had come down from the Coventry game and with two last gasp winners and the dread of pens or extra time just sent all of us a bit nuts :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Personally, Wycombe was a massive relief getting out of that awful division. Last Saturday was unbridled joy, back where we belong and two fingers to those who doubted us :emoticon-0169-dance:emoticon-0169-dance

I’m going to be arriving home at 3pm tomorrow ironically and therefore sticking this on the TV exactly one week since it happened. Some of the buzz will obviously be gone but I’m looking forward to watching

Don't be so sure mate, things you missed will come through and you'll fill your heart ...

... the look on the face of Diaz when he realises Hume isn't pulling out, Enzo when he wins a tackle in extra and bumps chests with Roberts.

I keep seeing things that surprise me, not least a close up of one of the posters from here <laugh>

Especially when I’ve had a drink and sometimes sober I can’t sing ‘we love you Sunderland’ cos I fill up and choke. Been going since I was 5 and nearly 57, they’ve been my life forever. The bastards. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Just catching up on the post match coverage. Jobi McAnuff "it's not about Sunderland finding a way to win, it was more about Sheff U finding a way to lose" :emoticon-0102-bigsm

The cheddar helmet. The only time they didn’t hoof a long ball they scored, that’s their fault not ours. They didn’t deserve to win but we did. TIL the end.

I cant stop bloody watching it, or anything to do with it.
I tried last night; I put on High Plains Drifter at 9.00pm, then someone posted that the semi final and final highlights were just starting on sky sports football.
The film went off, and never went back on.

It will be interesting to read what you think of the game. I've watched the full 90 twice since Saturday, without the anxiety in the cold light of day, we had more of the game than Sheffield United, more shots, more corners and some of our build up play was exquisite whereas they just lumped long balls up to Moore.
I said before kick off that it would be a Le Bris masterstroke and we would play to contain them first half and rip them a new one second half.
Hang on a bit, I've dropped my red and white specs :emoticon-0100-smile

Sunderland AFC Head Coach Régis Le Bris has been named the Utilita Performance of the Week Award winner following the Black Cats’ unforgettable 2-1 victory over Sheffield United in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off final.

A tense afternoon at Wembley saw Sunderland return to the Premier League for the first time since 2017, with Le Bris’ tactical tweaks and half-time inspiration proving decisive in a dramatic comeback win.

The Black Cats were forced to dig deep after falling behind in the 25th minute. Tyrese Campbell finished coolly following a swift counter-attack sparked by Gustavo Hamer, putting the Blades in front against the run of play.

Despite the setback - and the early injury to Luke O’Nien - Sunderland grew into the game. Le Bris introduced Chris Mepham to shore up the defence, and his decision to start Chris Rigg and Romaine Mundle in place of Patrick Roberts and Wilson Isidor added renewed energy in midfield.

After the break, Sunderland turned the tide. Eliezer Mayenda powered home a header to level the scores, and with the red-and-white army in full voice, teenager Tommy Watson etched his name into club folklore by sweeping home a stoppage-time winner.

The victory not only secured promotion, but capped a remarkable journey under Le Bris, whose calm leadership and tactical bravery were key in guiding Sunderland back to the top flight.

For Sunderland fans, the wait is over - and thanks to Le Bris, a new chapter begins.

    Nope, spot on.

Neither the time or the place for either and we certainly didn't need a DJ/Sweet Caroline, we can entertain ourselves just fine thanks.
