Not a shock after his inertia in the final. But, he did get 92 points as likes to tell us. Getting a better one in is not usually as easy as getting rid the old one out.
It is not impossible, but they gave him a contract to 2028 a few months ago. Wouldnt be surprised if he gets to start next season.
Not gone yet but think it's close https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-sheffield-united-making-chris-wilder-sack-decision/
I don't see how they can keep him on tbh. His ego has become bigger than the club and his behaviour at Plymouth was disgraceful, not to mention their end of season form. He looked confused and chaotic at Wembley which was bad enough ... ... then ran straight down the tunnel, on the final whistle, without acknowledging their supporters or players. It looked really cheap and shabby, time to go.
One thing that annoyed me with Wilder (a lot annoys me with him tbh) was how he came straight over to shake RLBs hand when RLB was celebrating with his staff. Just wait, let them have a celebration together, RLB and co weren't going over the top theu were hugging each other, and then come over and shake hands Just thought it was unprofessional, I've been on the losing end of finals (obviously nowhere near as big as that one) and I will always let the other coach celebrate with their staff 1st before going over to congratulate them
It really was disgraceful and typical of how Wilder thinks he's always the most important person in any situation. If he'd just left the stadium RLB, and the staff, wouldn't have even noticed tbh. Americans may have their quirks but they're almost always polite and gracious in defeat, they won't like that kind of thing.
