The Dan Ashworth carry on shows what a mess the club is in, and how out of touch the owners are. They went all out for him, he voiced an opinion that differed from the owners so they binned him off, look how that panned out. He cost them over £4m for 5 months work. That club is desperate for a proper change in ownership and direction. There was a rumour they may fail PSR if they didn't qualify for Europe this season. Will be interesting to see how that plays out.
Plus they'll sell Rashford and Anthony so should get some money through the door The issue is they pay these boys silly wages that other teams don't want to pay
Aye they need a big clear out to raise funds but very few players that would command a decent fee. They should be snapping the hands off at that Saudi offer for Fernandes. They need an absolutely massive rebuild but have no real money to spend having made a loss of over £300m the last few years. The wage bill is ridiculous, Casimeiro on over £300k a week man. Madness.
It does make me laugh when clubs make statements like this about managers or players. They seem to ignore the fact that loyalty is a 2-way street and every club in the world will discard managers, coaches and players when they are seen as being surplus to requirements.
There are some championship managers who are going to have to lower their expectations to get a job. With the parachute payments clubs roles seemingly filled along with Norwich it’ll be interesting to see where the likes of Steve Cooper, Russell Martin etc end up.
