I wish, 40 quid each way (80 in total) it used to be much cheaper than this and my dodgy ears get me a disabled discount as well which I’ve honourably shared amongst the 4 of us:
Mrs ended up booking Travelodge in Piccadilly. Literally only place available at the time. I won't tell you how much as it's disgusting. Literally hundreds of pounds for a Travelodge
please log in to view this image 'Imagine if you will' a parallel universe where people like different things you simply don't understand. There's a huge amount of interest, some may say hysteria, from fans of Oasis who are clearly passionate and happy to spend their time, effort and money to support their heroes. They're perfectly entitled and doing no one any harm so, as has happened on this thread, are left to enjoy whatever it is they see in them. So, imagine if you will, how annoying it would be to have other posters coming on relentlessly criticising the group. If there were daily posts .... accusing them of being shyte, operating a racket to milk the fans, having a ticketing system clearly unfit for the job, flogging ridiculously priced merchandising and serving poor quality beer, being middle aged men acting as teenagers again like a musical Ant & Dec, failing to ensure true fans get the tickets, having in-fights, or 'being injured, sick, whatever', meaning performances are cancelled and everyone let down ... that would be irritating to their fans and posters on the thread. The thread would be derailed and would knock the enjoyment of people, some of whom wouldn't bother posting again. Just saying
I'm sure you've looked, but Heaton Park right next to the M60. Try looking at Ashton Under Lyne or places just off M60. Around 15 mins in Uber (if you can get one)
Tickets sorted! We eventually paid 60 quid a piece in the end there and back which isn’t too bad. we cocked up the tickets going there by the system reverting to the wrong date but paid an admin fee and changed the dates. sometimes you gotta roll with it.
Decent. We opted for national express as it's right next to our leaving location, so cheaper and quicker than train. Was going to go with Flexibus as it's half the price of national express but it go into Manchester at 14.30. Didn't fancy that so national express gets in at 12.05. Was 52 quid return for both together.
Cheap as chips mate, coaches are out for us as the missus is notoriously travel sick in cars and busses but strangely not trains.
I love music, go to gigs and have a vast range of taste, my latest favourite listen is Fontaines D.C. ... ... but Oasis just leave me cold, I really don't get it at all tbh. This tour reminds me on Ant & Dec tbh, grown men acting like they're still teenagers. Tell me where I'm going wrong and why people are spending huge sums to see them ... ... is is nostalgia from people who were teenagers when they were big?
Saw them in the 90s at Murrayfield and the last year they performed at the SOL and v festival. They were good then but this tour is not for me. You can never go back.
Fifty year old millionaires singing 'angry teenager' songs just seems as fake as can be to me ... ... people are paying hundreds to watch a tribute band imo.
As a musician, I cannot stand them! Every guitar solo almost exactly the same. All minor pentatonic. Vocally ropey imo too. And act like twats!! It does absolutely nothing for me at all. Didn’t like them originally, like them even less now. Noel’s High Flying Birds have not released a single catchy memorable tune. Liam has mind! (One I found quite good)
