If you didn't know the score you'd see their forums, think it was 0-0 and Sunderland were awarded a VAR goal in the final minutes.

FFS they were winning 1-0, playing well and it wasn't even half time.

Do tough experienced Championship players really go to pieces because they have an offside goal ruled out ...

... if so it's no surprise they took such a pasting last time they were in the PL.

 

When the commentators, pundits and ex-ref Mike Dean all agree that the decision is correct, which is incredibly rare, it was the right call by the letter of the law, and when an often incendiary opposition manager such as Wilder describes it as subjective he also knows it was probably the correct decision. He would have been going absolutely ballistic otherwise.

 

Really not sure what the debate is about the VAR decision. If roles were reversed, I'd expect it to be disallowed against us...and as p issed off as I would be it, i'd live with it...clear and obvious to anyone who saw the replay. They were 1-0 up and to be honest had the lions share of the game at that time... If that one decision ( as Smug says ) made them crumble then they really don't deserve another crack in the EPL. Their main issue, is their manager... What is it with Sheffield Utd that attract managers like Warnock and Wilder, baffles me

 

It was never 2-0. The goal was illegal.

Agreed,and isn't it Wilder's job to get them back on the straight and narrow at half time? Another example of the failure of the odious little twat.

I can see the relationship with Fulwell73 being another smart bit of business by our owners . We are thinking outside the normal football bubble and long may it continue

Imagine if Fulwell had got back involved for the playoff semis and final to do a new finale of Sunderland til I die. They couldn’t have scripted any of the three matches better

 

Bet they wish they had. Theatre of theatre would have been beyond magnificent.

 

Just booked a hotel in Sheffield in a few weeks time. I thought the Hilton on Brammal Lane right next to the ground would be appropriate. Think I’ll raise a glass to Wilder while I’m there.

Some are making a big deal about being down to 10 men when we scored ...

... Wilder had stood around, looking confused, when the trainer went on to treat the player.

They had ages to get a substitute organised but Wilder was too busy being angry with everyone including himself.

He's part of the reason clubs don't want to employ English managers in my opinion ...
