It was all slightly hysterical tbh.

RLB carefully spelled out that he was 'resting' everything over the last few games.

Some supporters still went absolutely off their heads when we lost meaningless games.

And, as you say, the plan worked like the plot off the A-Team ...

... but some people will still believe they were right and he just got lucky <laugh>

Think the weekend showed that the players feel both sides of it. A fair few of them mentioned the stick that Watson has been getting and it’s been said that they were pissed off with the fans when they got moany towards the end. But when the fans just back them regardless, it’s amazing what the effect can be! Need that energy for 38x90 mins next season.

He kept saying it. He couldn’t come out and straight up say we were coasting and sandbagging games, but he made it clear in cryptic form.

Even Enzo said something that hinted they were all playing half arsed (and we all could see the shirked challenges and the shortened sprints in the last games)

    Quite right mate.

Some people think the players are arrogant millionaires who aren't affected by the crowd ...

... in reality they're just a bunch of lads at work together like any of us.

Leaving aside the personality questions there has literally never been anyone so incompetent, so utterly ill-equipped to run a football club. Employing Dicky ****ing Hill as the brains behind his football operation man:emoticon-0102-bigsm . And people have the brass neck to give Speakers stick:emoticon-0102-bigsm

we’re thankfully light years away from the Donald era in every single respect.

What I really can't fathom is how, after suffering a huge financial crisis, people demand the club 'show ambition' by spending loads of money ...

... Sheff Utd did that, copped a points deduction and got nowhere.

It’s why so many fail, not specific to Sunderland but at any of the clubs, some bigger, some smaller than us that you’d say have ‘proper supporters’.

It’s not for everyone. It’s far easier to play for Brighton, Brentford or Bournemouth than it is to play at Sunderland, Leeds or Newcastle.

You are dealing with different forces. There’s clubs that footy is a nice day out and there’s towns and cities that live and breathe and boom or bust depending on sports teams.

Not everyone can handle that extra angle. That’s why you see players flop at Villa, West Ham, Sunderland then go do great at a ‘friendly club’

Anyone who bleats on about ‘showing ambition’ tends to get filed as a bit of a dope in my head. It’s primary school level patter.

Leicester about to be bummed as well. They did a great job manipulating the rules last year, the leagues changed the rules and have been waiting for them. They gonna get royally ****ed be more than 2 points.

Just to put things in to clear perspective four days after Wembley. Not one Sheffield Utd substitutions contributed or change or altered their style of play to the game. On the other hand Each of ours made positive changes and gave Sheffield problems until the end of the game. The two half Chances that Sheffield did have came from our mistakes, not from constructive play. In fact, they created next to nothing clear cut.

think I've watched about 100s of these and they keep getting better and better,

their arrogance was the same as coventry fans.

    fun fact.

we've never played Sheff Utd in the premier league

One thing I noticed on Saturday which I was pleased about, never heard the fans in the ground singing any anti mag songs. Only a very minor Few in the streets too. Annoys the **** out of me when we get to a massive game and sing about them.

The 'ambition' lovers must've been disappointed by Kieffer Moore, Brereton Diaz and Tom Cannon's pathetic performances on Saturday. 800k Mayenda outplayed all 3 of them.

I only saw three, before the game, when they came into the Argyll ...

... you'd have thought we were playing Liverpool the way they were talking <laugh>

thier fans are FUMING with Wilder,

    saying the exact same thing,

few are now saying after a few days and watching it back, that they just sat back on a one nil lead, and didnt threaten that much,
that our subs changed the game,
that wilder was taught a lesson by RLB for game management, that his tactics were spot on.
Moore should never play for them again,
Cannon was a waste of 10m and should have let us sign them
their jan signings were as useful as a fart in the wind

There wasn’t even that many around the streets mate. I genuinely get the feeling that we’ve ‘detached’ from that plastic Saudi love in.

We will reattach for 2 days next season of course, but I wasn’t even arsed when they got CL/won the Carabao.

It’s just so much bullshit, soul selling and repainting history up the road now it’s lost its heart.

Can I like this post twice?

We might have people in charge of our club who have at least half an idea of how to actually run a football club.

There’s plenty all across Sunderland social media who will simply never understand or admit that sometimes the best thing for the club to do is nothing, and that sometimes we do things that don’t pay off immediately. See ‘the worst windows in Sunderland’s history’ where we bought Mundle, Mayenda and Jobe for less than £6m:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0103-cool:
