I agree @RTB does a cracking job setting up the match day thread but what makes these threads so good is the discussions on it

The negativity on Saturday wasn't bad at all so no idea why people are getting digged out for it. It wasn't derailed, it actually only got derailed because people moaned about the people moaning.

If these match day threads are only for positive comments only then next season maybe we should look to have a 2nd thread for people to debate and comment honestly about the game whether that's positive or negatively

Speaking as somebody who was ONLY following this game via this thread, I can say 100% it wasn’t ruined or derailed by anyone until last night when somebody claimed it was ruined and derailed.

Reading match reports later it seems that I was getting a completely accurate depiction of our performance and the game flow as it stood.

This match day thread has been a god send to me this holiday and I’m so grateful for the fans that posted in it whilst being their live and to those of you have posted clips and reaction etc since. It helped fans like me who couldn’t watch it. I’m only getting phone signal for a few hours each day so it’s massively helped having everything captured in one long thread.

Let’s not ruin it by picking fights in retrospect.

You are acting like a bairn, nobody cares less about negative threads, it’s threads that go on about young lads having their first few games and getting told they’re
s hite and should never be allowed to wear a Sunderland shirt again or saying RLB is s hit and should be replaced and constantly calling him Regis le Bore, or giving lists of our young players who have come from a different country ( who are just bairns ) and being told to get them out the club as soon as we can. I can guarantee these young players read this forum and don’t want to read this s hit about themselves, some have even wrote “ well if they can’t stand the heat they shouldn’t be trying to be footballers “
I could go on mate, but this is the s hite that shouldn’t be wrote, not normal negative comments, as I’ve said know one gives a monkeys about them.
Ps I thoroughly enjoy your posts.

I'm not acting like a bairn, I was negative on Saturday but I was commenting factually about the game - with how i saw it

I was also quick to praise us, yet I'm being made to feel like I can't post honestly about the game in case it derails it for being 'negative'

The players will not read this, the players will not be going on fan forums to see what people are saying about them

I agree just calling players s**t is pointless, I don't mind people saying 'they are playing s**t today' as that happens - but that didn't happen on Saturday. The moans were about us being too slow, or looking too afraid or too predictable. There will always be the odd comment that someone says in the heat of the moment but on Saturday it was mostly about us being too slow and 'boring' for the 1st half

Note - I don't think i worded my post great, the 1 you are responding back too if I'm being honest

Most negative thing I’ve seen on this forum is not wanting promotion because we will lose lots tbh

Negative posts don't bother me at all. Some act as if it's a personal insult. The derailing by jumping on someone who expresses an opinion just because it's perceived as negative is crap tbh. That's what spoils here imo. The critical posts can be the most interesting/educational sometimes..not so much the 'this is ****e' ones, but more eloquent/specific as that triggers actual football debate.
Ok people being at a match posting they are leaving is a bit odd, but a frustrated/negative post about what they are watching. All good for me.

To be fair mate I wasn’t responding to any of your posts, I thought you would have knew that, I am fairly certain you know exactly who I’m responding to.
I even got told by one I’m in Smug’s little gang <laugh> I bet Smug had a laugh at that, I did <laugh><laugh>

I think we all just need to remember that Luis Hemir Semedo is a premier league footballer, if that can’t raise a smile nothing will

We have so many players we need to ship out this window. I mean purely the ones who weren’t in the squad last year.

    Hemir
    Ba
    Aouchiche
    Pembele
    Rusyn
    Anderson
    Matete
    Ekwah

And that’s before you look at the wider squad players who will likely need to be loaned out or moved on.

    Fair

I just got really pi$$ed off when it's being suggested I set up a whats app group instead of sharing my opinion on here

Folk won't always agree with my opinion but I always feel I give my opinion from a good place. I try to take my emotion out of it when positing on match day threads, try to comment on what I'm seeing at the time. I never have a hidden agenda or target any specific players, just comment on what I see and what I would do to change it

One things for sure we will not be bored this summer, interested to see where we fit in abdullahi and Ogusunyi too, if the latter sticks around that is, really exited for the window to open, sure it’s on Saturday too then fixtures not long after it all seems very quick this year

After watching the game back loved the bit after the game when Watson gives his shirt to a young lad in the crowd, the kid is over the moon waving it around then he sniffs it turns to his m8 and pulls a right face

I believe so. Which would be a shame but again, just others in front and another one who doesn't seem to want to hang around and graft for the opportunity.

Fair enough shame but we can’t keep them all, they think his path is blocked here for the foreseeable anyway so not one ill be overly bothered about
