£13m Sunderland Striker Alerts Tottenham and Liverpool with Exit Wish

Despite admitting his admiration for new manager Martin O’Neill, Asamoah Gyan has outlined his reluctance to return to Sunderland, perhaps even after his loan spell with Middle Eastern outfit Al Ain has finished.

Ghanaian goalscorer Gyan – who has netted 27 times in 54 matches for the Black Stars – is in the United Arab Emirates as a result of a deal struck back in September and, although rumours to the contrary have circulated this week, the 26 year-old ruled out a return to Wearside this January.

“Will I come back to Sunderland at the end of this season? For now I don’t want to talk about my situation because I am currently on loan and I am doing well,” said the striker, who has six goals in six league games for his current side. “Let’s see where my future lies after my loan deal.

“I miss the Premier League because it is the best league in the world so I have a lot of respect for it. It is a great league and who knows what will happen in the future. But what I have to say is that I am enjoying my football at the moment. I don’t know – let’s see what happens at the end of my current deal.”

“I know all about Martin O’Neill. I remember him from when he was at Aston Villa and they did very well when he was there,” Gyan added. “He is a good manager and everyone speaks well about him.”

With such comments in mind, both Harry Redknapp and Kenny Dalglish – who are not shy of gambling on high-profile attackers – could be compelled into approaching the Black Cats about Gyan’s availability.

Scoring 10 Premiership goals in 34 appearances since his record breaking £13 million move, Gyan has proven pedigree in the top-tier of English football and would be a strong addition to the squads of either Tottenham or Liverpool.

Sell the greedy Twat to the first club that will pay the price. I have the utmost faith in MoN in using those funds in the right way.

"outlined his reluctance to return to Sunderland"

I know I'm a bit thick, but where exactly is this outlined?

    Nor me mate.
I do read about a guy now enjoying his football.
I said before he went, he didn't look like he was enjoying himself, the way Bruce was playing football.

That's what I thought when I read it <doh> I suppose they are playing on the fact that he didn't sound excited about a return to our club.

The way I see it he has to come back at the end of the season if we want him. Doesn't he?
He says the Prem is the best league in the world but wont commit to coming back to Sunderland at the end of the season???

My prediction. We will never see Gyan play for Sunderland again...We don't pay enough.

Wasn't having a pop at you Dorset mate just the wording of the article. <ok>
Even the bit about returning he says, he doesn't want to talk about that whilst still on loan.

I didn't think you were MR <ok> I've highlighted the paragraph that I think they are assuming the worst from. Even that is clutching at straws <doh> There's going to be a lot of speculation about Gyan in the coming months....

Got to say that I think Cyprusmackem has hit the nail on the head. when he says that Gyan will never play for us again because of ££££££££

Let him rot in his Mickey-Mouse league. Already showed his true colours, he doesn't give a **** about Sunderland, anyone who thinks he does is living in cloud-cukoo-land! Cash in on him when his loans over and move on.

I think we should sell him for £20 million...for two reasons One: if any body has any sense they wont pay and we can watch him rot.....Two : £ 20 million is what the slimeball with his arm up his back wants...... and he could get it....

Or as somebody on here previously said " We should try and see it from Gyans point of view......" I think not!.....excuse me while I rinse my mouth out....

Gyan is a class player and a superstar, the bias press cannot stand that he is a Sunderland player and want him at one of their favourite teams.

I think he will leave but it has more to do with money and other people putting pressure on him than anything Sunderland have done. I say put a high price on his head (20m) and wait till someone is stupid enough to pay it. Then let MON use the money wisely.

This is just a re-hash of yesterday's article in which he said he wouldn't be coming back in January. That was no great shock, as we'd taken a fee for the loan, and, depending on the details in the contract, might even have to compensate Gyan for loss of earnings! But then I suppose it's no great shock that the British press twists it around and re-issues it rather than finding today's news either.

    F**K ME!

I could score 6 in 6 over there - even now!

If they want him (Scousers and Spurs); we want a striker and cash back. No haggling.
