Might hold thst one for the chavs next. Should add palace trophy.cabinet to thst as well. The only London clubs will be Fulham (don't want to win anything) and arsenal thst don't have a recent pot.
its nearly time to discuss the "most successful club" angle, chavs dont play for a full week. however it won't move them up this table LFC have IMO won more real trophies than man utd. Chelsea have now a strong record in the second tier of european football and can say they are closing on us. For the mancs clinging tothe community shield we have also close that gap with real trophies and they can no longer use that one as well. for the past 5 years, Congratulations to spurs for jumping up onto this table in a nice firm 5th place. I have kept the communit shield as a tie break for leicester and Palace and ranked the FA cup above the League cup as that would be a common agreement given the europea spot each gets. I put west ham above both as they won a 3rd tier european trophy even though its uncompetitive. Arsenal with 2 communities shileds sit embaressingly on the table for arguments stake when i say real trophies I add our 3 domestic trophies to the 3 european trophies so City have 1 CL, 4 leagues, 1 fa cup and 1 league cup for 7. Nobody cares about show peices really. If the world club farce is actually competitive this summer i might change that but we will have the issue of world clubs from years gone by not counts as much
Tottenham have a decision to make after Ange Postecoglou won the Europa Cup. They have to be smart because Manchester United can take their manager if Ange Postecoglou is sacked
No cos palace have not agreed to thst 0-0 If we made all drinks free in the stadium and asked all players wear slippers then maybe.
Community shield has to be removed from any records. it was only this year that I learned some of both lfc and Manchester’s community shield ‘wins’ weren’t actually wins, but they just shared it with the opponent. And even worse, back in the day, it wasn’t a comp between league and fa cup winner, just 2 random teams that were invited to take place so there was no way to actually fairly be in the running to win. Added that the fa officially confirm it as a pre season friendly as it doesn’t count for any actual stats of games/goals and allowed 7 subs l
No, top five still get CL football. Spurs qualifying means we'll have six teams in the CL next season
Thought I'd check out who needs what to quality for a European place and as usual, it's quite complicated. CL - 1st-5th, Spurs EL - 6th, Palace and Chelsea if they win Conf. and don't finish 1-6 in league. Conf - 7th or 8th if Chelsea win Conf. With Chelsea almost certain to win the European Conference, (league place still to be determined) this means that half the league i.e 10 teams will be playing in Europe next season. That's crazy!
But, but... it's Pep's "trophy" for this season. Personally, I only count the obvious five - any exhibition match/tournament shouldn't be included imo.
Try telling that to Maresca and Boehly - they're really panicking over Betis' league game being moved to help them in the final
As things are, the PL could have a maximum of seven teams in the CL in a given season (that will occur soon enough - and I await to see how UEFA would change the competitions to prevent it ever happening again ) .
