A combined £100.5m spent on 2 strikers with a combined tally of 17 in 93 games
Whoever is signing the cheques at Man Utd needs shooting with ****.

This is the core of the issue. He's insisted on playing a system that he doesn't have the players for. He's another of these modern coaches who have one way of playing - Russell Martin springs to mind here - but surely a pragmatic way would be to play to the strengths of the squad, then go for the overhaul in the summer. You can't tell me that Man Utd would have finished lower had he employed a 4-2-3-1 system that played to the strengths of the players he currently has. IF they back him, then sack him as seems to be the way at Man Utd these days, then they will be left with an unbalance squad for the next guy.

Reminds me of us when Short was in charge - by the time Vergini signed on a permanent deal, the manager who wanted him (Poyet) had been replaced as had his replacement...

Roy Keane has mentioned it a few times on the overlap and he’s bang on, what are Uniteds strengths? They don’t really have any. They have no real style of football, nobody to build a team around. If you go into that dressing room and look at the squad what kind of football do you decide to play? Harry Maguire up front and hoof the ball to him is probably as effective as they can get :emoticon-0102-bigsm

If I were the coach there, I'd be setting up in a 4-3-3/4-3-2-1

They have talented wingers in Rashford, Garnacho and Amad. They have a wealth of CDMs in Mainoo, Casemiro, Ugarte and Erikson. They had a talented 10 in Fernandes, plus Mount who can play anywhere across the front. Obviously up front is the issue, but plenty teams have been successful with a false 9. They need players who will run without the ball and towards their own goal - IMHO it's not a talent thing, it's an attitude thing.

They played Casemiro and Eriksen against the mags and it was painful to watch the pair of them are so slow now. I thought Mainoo looked good when he came through but he seems to fallen out of favour. Bruno is a tough one for me because he’s obviously very talented as a 10 as you say but if your centre midfielders aren’t very good it’s hard to have a proper 10. Chelsea have Palmer but they’ve got loads of energy with Caicedo and Enzo. Newcastle don’t play a 10 so they go with a more physically dominant midfield 3. Then I looked at Uniteds and I just don’t really know how you’d set it up because Bruno has to play but those behind him aren’t good enough to dictate the game for him to have the freedom in that role. Amad is decent but he’s only really had a season in the PL and Garnacho is a 1 in 3 player with a ****e attitude. If you compare those two as wingers to even the likes of a Brighton or a Brentford with Mitoma, Adingra, Minteh, Mbuemo, Schade etc I wouldn’t say they’re any better.

Some big decisions need to be made on players coming and going plus as someone’s already mentioned the wages are all sky high so not sure anyone will be wanting to take those on without United subsidising some of it. They’re in such a mess.

More staff at Man U have been told they are going to lose their jobs, another 250 to go at the training ground.

were told today as to not disrupt them before the Europa Cup final

How can you run a club with that amount of staff and then realise you don’t need them?

That's proper crap for the staff but how big is the training ground if they are able to make that many redundant?

That seems like a mad amount.

Has to be Player of the Season now they’ve won the league. Harsh on Retegui mind he’s got 32 combined goals and assists in 35 games, think he’s got about 10 more goals than the next player but McTominay is hardly shy of numbers this season either.
