I've seen these sorts of comments a few times. I'm not sure what it means. Yes, he sacked 2 managers at a time which shocked the fans, but apart from that what has he done wrong that a manager wouldn't like? He has backed his managers in every window.
Bruce gave me the impression the majority of players he had at his disposal were chosen by him, and then left to Assem to sign the cheques, with regards Acun I get the impression he wants to heavily Influence signings perhaps more then he should.
I'm really not sure he does. Yes, he brought in players from Turkey which I'm sure he had a hand in but a lot of our signings he won't have even heard of until they were in the frame to be signed. You reckon he demanded we sign Matt Crooks, Aaron Connoly, Mason Burstow, Kyle Joseph? As others have said before, I believe him to have good intentions and has been very sloppy with who he trusted and showed his inexperience by sacking Rosenior and McCann before him. Hopefully now he will get the right manager in and we will see some stability.
Opinions are what this is all about, sadly I have less faith then your good self, yes I feel he has good intentions, but I do feel the players,.managers he has brought in at times reflects his own knowledge and not that shared, Tufan ( who I have to say eventually was a success for us) and Sinik being the first of a few players who I'm pretty certain was down to him, and then we have Arveladze and Walter, again down to him. While I applaud your stance, I cant agree with it.
Fair enough mate, we all think differently. But with respect you're now talking about managers again by the end of your paragraph. My point was that he has backed his managers on the whole and I was not sure what he has done that would put off Steve Bruce.
Acun intimated as much himself. He also was unhappy with other elements of team selection. Think I'll believe him over you. Pandur is another example of an acun signing along with Lincoln, sinik, pelkas, etc. Bruce was unhappy enough with Gedo and Fathi.
Do you think Postecoglu could work & we could get him? I mean Acun would sack him if it looked like we weren’t getting European football next season, might survive January & Acun goes all out for the Champions League push, before sacking him!
You think when Baz states he hopes Acun will 'trust the people he employs instead of club staff working to one template and the owner doing his own thing" what do you think he is alluding to without explicitly biting the hand that feeds him? And similarly when describing him as a 'hands on owner and that's not going to change'? Or are you just going to deny Baz has that kind of insight despite having a front row seat at the training ground, speaking regularly to coaches, players and staff, and also having a direct line to Acun himself?
Yeah remember Steve Bruce refused to have Mo Salah here after the Allams had agreed a transfer for him. Swings and roundabouts.
I think it is, didn’t he himself come out and confirm the rumour a couple of years ago? He wanted to come here but Bruce didn’t want him so he ended up at Basel.
No, he said he missed him at Al-Mokawloon despite having scouts in Egypt. I think he also tried to loan him from Chelsea for City at some point.
It was his agent not him. "Off the top of my head, only Stoke and Hull showed any interest. (He) would have cost £2.5m." explained Honeyman. That’s as far as it went with Salah eventually making a move to Basle, before then switching to Chelsea and finally getting a first crack at English football. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/spo...iverpool-star-mohamed-salah-could-1066395.amp
Anyone remember Kahraba? He was supposed to be an Egyptian wonderkid. Surprised we never tried to sign him under the Allams.
