Journeyman manager too - and with past experience would certainly suit the 'Watford Look' (Kate Moss' voice). As would Slaven B - also out of work and as above.
I remember Phil Brown's name coming up in conversation during his tenure. I was at a wedding in Driff and my cousins husband was a coach in Brid and he also did a lot of scouting etc.. He said he'd never met a nicer bloke, said he used to turn up on a regular basis at coaching sessions,of his own accord, and provided excellent advice, experience and nous. I liked Brownie, all went belly up in the end but **** me, that promotion was everything at the time and still is!!!
That article by Baz was a load of bollocks. In one part of the article he says “City's owner has pushed aside other commitments to focus on appointing a new manager and held his latest interview on Monday afternoon, alongside his self-titled brain team, which includes Dublin, Hodge and Yokes. The candidate interviewed is thought to have impressed the panel and could yet be offered the job, though that is not expected to be a foregone conclusion, and further discussions are likely.” But then at the end of the article he goes on to say “Plymouth Argyle head coach Miron Muslic and Antalyaspor boss Emre Belozoglu had been linked with the vacant MKM Stadium role, but it's understood neither of those is currently in the running to replace Selles and neither were the candidate who was interviewed yesterday and impressed the panel..” What was the bloody point of the article then? Edit: I don’t know how that bit got hotlinked about Emre
I feel like we might get a name we know with championship experience rather than a left field random. Has Dean Smith ruled himself out? I'd like Cooper, but reckon he'll be holding out for a premier league or top end championship job.
Brownie will always hold a place in my heart for what he achieved, however the moment fat Sam got employed again our results and performances dipped. The incident re the racing was when were struggling in our second season and senior pros went against him realising the need to work out what was going g wrong on the pitch as opposed to what was happening on the racing turf ! McCann again delivered in Division 1, not the championship were he got us relegated from, and was struggling second time round, so no thanks.
whoever it is, hopefully they're in the door sharpish. I know Baz has said in one of his articles that's the plan, so fingers crossed it pans out that way. Can't be bothered with us ****ing about for 2 months or whatever it was like last year.
We had the lowest annual wage bill in the Championship in the season after we got promoted. He got sacked when we were about 16th or something so he definitely wasn't struggling. He was doing a great job that season.
Personally think that boat has sailed for Cooper (Prem)... look at Palace and Brighton and what you can get internationally.
To be fair some managers just catch lightning in a bottle at one club. Wilder at Blunts is another example
isn’t it just saying that they’ve got a candidate that they like but it’s not Muslic or Emre. Don’t think that negates its validity?
Exactly this, but it is poorly written (what a shock). They should have gone with something like.. "but it's understood neither of those is currently in the running to replace Selles, and that neither of them were the candidate who was interviewed yesterday and impressed the panel.."
I did almost tell them the Phil Brown question was ****ing dumb when the host was also saying it was ****ing dumb after the questions were asked.
don’t care we barely survived they almost got playoffs, we also beat sheff united and Sunderland I’d much rather be in their respective positions right now.
no just meant generally but I actually did think as I wrote it that some little bastard is going to say “erm but we beat Millwall”… was odds on to be you too Syd
