Giving fishing rights in UK waters to Europe is criminal. Most of the fish caught around our coasts are sold into Europe and keep the fishing fleet alive. Now they will just float in and take them for free.

This fascination with fish bemuses me. In practical terms it is of marginal economic importance, about 0.04% of gdp. We don’t even eat the fish caught in British waters, few of us fancy some nice mackerel it’s cod and haddock caught elsewhere that floats our boat. It’s all emotive bollox.
The sale of fish to the EU was worth millions to the fishing industry and kept many in the fleet in work that had probably been in their familys for generations. Now the clown Starmer has said to the EU just float in and take what you want/need for free. Where does that leave the people in our fishing fleet, homeless and sleeping on the streets? One thing is for sure, once they lose their lively hoods Starmer won't be putting them up in hotels FOC.
