Maybe coz he actually cares? (maybe some really would prefer the Allam's approach). That said, I'm with AJB (no, not literally); I'd rather he left it for a bit, let them get on with it, then do one later if he feels he has to do.
Questioning the actions or decisions of our current owner doesn't necessarily equate to thinking the sun shines out of Ehab Allams rear-end...
No, I get that ... I just added it for contrast. Do people want someone who (seems to genuinely) care about the fans and wants to engage with them, or do they want someone like the Allams? And yep, of course there's a scale, with those 2 options probably being near the opposite ends of that scale.
i do think the new manager will be none of the ones linked the club can be quite good at keeping things quiet when it wants
Seems is the word there. If & it’s a huge IF, we ever get to the PL, he will take all the glory. However I doubt very much we will see the PL before we see League 1, possibly 2 under Acun’s leadership. I’ll be happy to be proven wrong. I’m not pro Allam, but every time they made a decision to change managers, there was someone lined up, players weren’t bought & binned within a short period of time. I just hope whoever Acun flogs it to isn’t the next dodgy football club owner, there’s too many in football nowadays!
I don't know where Alex Neil lives or if he has a family but if he hasn't relocated yet and we offer significantly more in wages then we might have a chance. Otherwise don't think we've got a chance of getting him
Thing with Neil is...did he not just walk out Sunderland for a better offer from Stoke. Can you imagine the meltdown if that happened to us.
Im not questioning whether he cares or not when I say this but the whole “he clearly cares” argument is a real convenient coverall for any mistakes he makes. The issue now is with all the sackings that’s happened is that whoever comes in clearly has one objective. Get into the playoffs. I would suspect that the objective may be get promoted but I don’t have anything to base that on. Selles and Rosenior have both been sacked because they failed to reach the playoffs so it’s evident that is the goal. I personally don’t think sacking a manager at least once every 12 months in the hunt for playoffs is caring. Caring would be understanding that these things do take time. When was the last time a non parachute team got promoted with a new manager starting in the summer? I suppose Forest but that’s all I can recall
Time is the thing and it's a problem of impatience . We live in an instant world and plenty don't want to wait . Could you imagine taking a twenty year old back to 2000, sitting them in front of a computer and waiting for dial up internet to connect ? I remember wait 2 hours for certain songs to download .
I think most fans would be understanding if there was a gradual sign of growth. Instead our trajectory had its head cut off before we could see where it was going.
