I wouldn’t be particularly happy with Muslic and I think that would be a bit of a strange appointment in the circumstances but if we were currently looking at appointing either him or Selles as our two main targets I would definitely be hoping for Muslic.

There must be managers available who've won promotion with a club. I'd rather have someone who'd won promotion in League Two than someone who slightly improved a team at the bottom of the Championship.

Muslic is getting banded about to lower expectations.

Muslic got his team into Europe having guided them to safety the year before. He also did it with mostly the same players as he did from the season before.

Muslic got absolutely carried by denkey and theres only 16 teams in that league

He may or may not be a good manager
But its not as impressive as it appears at bruges

It’s really not that impressive given how the Belgian Pro League is structured. This season he had them second from bottom when he was sacked.

As Brady said, he was absolutely carried by Denkey during the 22/23 and 23/24 seasons. They were the lowest scorers in the champions’ play-offs and Denkey scored almost half their goals all season during the 23/24 season.

If people didn’t think Sellés was all that then I don’t know what they see in Muslić that is so appealing/exciting.

Then got sacked with them in their relegation zone? And the sacking was a month before Denkey was sold?

You say that as if we got battered under selles on the regular rather than having the fourth best defence in the league.

Yeah but nearly every manager that has/will come to us has been sacked for being a bit ****. Bruce was sacked by Sunderland pretty sharpish after a few bad results. Adkins was sacked by Sheffield United while they were in League One, but came to us and did ok. Marco Silva was sacked by Everton when they were in the relegation zone and he still got hired by Fulham.

Point is, every team goes through rough patches and the manager usually gets the bullet for it. We can't base our decisions solely on prior dismissals.

Muslic not only had a high win ratio at Bruges, he also managed to get a crap Plymouth team to knock Liverpool out of the FA Cup. He took a team that were defeated and had no morale and put fight into them, enough that they managed to win enough games to keep their season alive.

    I don't know why people don't think he'd be a good appointment, he's clearly a talented manager.

I have no issue with Muslic as an appointment in the same way I had no problem with Selles or Rosenior. They seem to be young, intelligent managers who favour defence first and then developing attacking play off the back of a tight defence that is difficult to break down. What I have a problem with is Acun not recognising that he seems to keep picking the same style of manager and then six months later complaining about that manager's style.

But like I just said to GFAW, nearly every manager gets sacked for being crap somewhere at some point. The fact that Plymouth were so ****ed after Rooney left and they still weren't relegated until the final day (though technically it was the second to last week because of other results) shows he has something about him. Plymouth often had less of the ball, but they were more clinical with it when their opponents would try to pass them off the park. They managed to beat Coventry, Sheffield United, Liverpool and West Brom with, let's face it, a pretty ****e team. If Muslic is appointed here, he'd have better players and might set us up differently.

From the names people have mentioned on here, he wouldn't be the worst by any stretch.

Mowbray is 4-1 third favourite and the second most popular bet - but Baz Cooper is convinced he’s not in the running, and doesn’t even offer him as a choice in the HDM poll. For me, him or Russell Martin are the best options, though Muslic might be ok. The rest look like a pile of cack.

Martin was good at this level but is a lot like Rosie,
Martin refused to change his style even though it was obvious it wasn’t working this season. He can have my vote if he brings Lucy Pinder to games, she can sit next to me
