Muslic talks a good game, but his Plymouth side sat back and relied upon long balls. Can't see him lasting long under Acun if he does come.
I'm surprised he's bothering getting a new manager at all. Why doesn't he simply ask Baz Cooper to run the club based on what Cooper reads on social media? Seems social media posts ( or some), according to Baz have not only influenced who we sign but who we want as manager. FFS, let them get on with it.
I see Ryan Mason is now getting linked, not enough experience for me, but then Barmby didn’t have any mgmt experience when he stepped up. So I’m torn on this one. What are your thoughts?
I have the same feeling, let's see pre-season, hopefully it will different than last year, although I know it won't.
Nothing against Mason but not for me.. I think we're due a proven manager for a change. Bit fed up of always taking a chance on someone Up and coming. If Acun is so determined to get promoted, get a manager who's done it before and back him.
Pretty sure Liam and Selles were two who showed promise but Ajun doesn’t have the patience for that promise to blossom
Think Scott Parker... at least he has connections with the club and will have a pool of youngsters to tap in to... cant se it happening BTW.
I'd be in favour, he's gained loads of coaching experience at Spurs under some top managers, Mourinho may have even had a word in Acun's ear, he's become Spurs Andy Dawson stepping up whenever needed, highly thought of and an ex-Tiger.
I say we get him in preseason and really drill all the new players then sack him just as the season starts
On Ryan Mason, why he might feel its a good move for him. 1. Postecoglu looks certain to get the bullet. Will the new manager want his own lieutenants leaving him in the cold. 2. I dont think he would get a significant Championship side at this stage, especially a first appointment. 3. I dont know whether he loved it here or not, but he might feel he has some unfinished business and at least knows the club, or indeed a debt of gratitude. It would be a sexy signing for Acun and as I said previously, he might be able to tap into some very good loans.
Muslic did very well at Bruge all things considered and he improved Plymouth enough to stave off relegation several weeks. I’d take him. Mason seems to do alright when he manages Spurs, I’d also be happy with him. Feel like he would be similar to Woodgate in that he could be a manager who improves with the team as he builds it.
that’s just a reflection of the stakes put on, not the likelihood of outcome, just the bookies covering themselves…just in case….
Don’t really see the rationale behind potentially appointing Muslić all things considered but whatever. I’m passed caring.
Just looked at his record Seems acun or the brains trust want a young coach desperate to prove himself rather than a seasoned pro who will tell them straight out what’s wrong a dyche a moyes etc wouldn’t put up with it so think we’re doomed to repeat the same mistakes
the same people raving about ryan mason will be the same that as soon as bad form comes theyll be mason out you really cant make it up its the exact same as rosie and selles young managers make loads of mistakes, its expected but they arent allowed to under acun so its a big waste of time
